  1. Would say that despite some minor quibbles, Ms Welch nearer the top of this season's lot so far on that showing. Didn't show a lot of empathy to Mr. Bielik after he got "nutted" though 🙂. Way ahead of Stroud and a few others we've had in the recent past.
  2. Thought it was a very enjoyable game and would have been a much more convincing victory if Mr Ruddy hadn't had that extra Weetabix and was very impressed with the performances of Barlaser and Fry in particular. No probs with ref other than the advantage decisions but if we had her every week, I would not object. Wasn't too well served by assistants but kept game under control and wasn't baffled by any actions so hope she gets more games at this level. We retained possession well and kept on top of their attack for majority of game. Crooks and Coburn by their physical presence alone make life v

  4. But could he do it from a standing start 🙂
  5. Rowett gone from Millwall.... mutual consent
  6. Possibly one other, Sian Massey-Ellis, but she is usually an assistant (linesperson). judging by stats Rebecca won't be slow to show a card if required https://www.whoscored.com/Referees/3919/Show/Rebecca-Welch
  7. Not sure if it is a first for Boro but ref for Birmingham is Rebecca Welch and for Norwich it is Simon Hooper. Rebecca is from Washington so hopefully after the last result, she isn't a Sunderland supporter 🙂
  8. Being a slow week, just spent an illuminating 90 minutes reading through 140 pages of last week's match thread on RTG. No mention of ref being rubbish for first thirty pages and quite a few remarking how clever O'Nien and Ballard had been to get away with being over-physical and to be fair a few lads said that after Greenwood got his card for dissent, ref was going to do the same when Neil lost it. The way things started in the second half, think quite a few came to the conclusion that if anyone was having a bad day, it was the officials and they began reviewing fouls by Crooks and Smith as ev
  9. Good choice... what could possibly go wrong?
  10. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/67113007 Hopefully gets the support he needs. Looks like a classic case of too much too soon, but credit to the lad for deciding to start over and with luck, the change might help him to enjoy life again.
  11. Definitely put feelers out to a "Scottish club" but nothing concrete unless he settles for a lower wage in return for extra years, so similar to here but competition from Vdb, Clarke and Leni becoming an increasing factor so lot depends on what he is willing to settle for as position now favours club
  12. Doesn't seem to be playing well at the moment. watched Ajax v AEK last week and constantly lost possession during his time on the pitch. Think his confidence has gone again, so be careful what you wish for. Hope he gets through it but he needs some TLC by that display.
  13. Tbh if I had a choice between a "lenient" referee and a pernickety whistleblower, I would take the lenient one every time if he was applying it equally. He seemed to let the physical stuff go to a large extent but obviously doesn't like people advising him how to do his job. It has been noticeable under MC that dissent bookings have been dramatically reduced and that is something that refs will pick up on. I think most accept players will hold their hands out or advise officials how many times they've been fouled but you have to know that screaming in the face is going to lead to a card. Don't

  15. Not only that but the fool only played the right notes in the right order !
  16. Piano... !!!!!! True weirdos (weardos?) play the harpsichord. Officially condoned "Harrumph" !
  17. Mr Gillett for Saturday. Maybe the best ref at this level. Fingers crossed that he knows we employ half the Aussie national team and does the right thing 🙂
  18. Tony Harrington listed as being in charge on Tuesday. Rather surprising as he is almost a local lad, but has a reasonable reputation (for a referee 🙂) .
  19. Aiming for subs bench in next few weeks then possible start in Cup. Hope he gets his wish. Very close to having to quit at one point
  20. I think there is a fellow on here from Okehampton that is happy to give Boro fans tours of the moors accompanied by his famous Hound 🙂
