  1. Pullis. I can't think of any managers disliked more.
  2. The article quotes £1.5m for him. At that price, if he will fit into Carrick's style of play, is he worth a punt?
  3. I think Cooper would be a good fit for Palace...
  4. I was there for last season's game and will be there this evening. I must admit, I've got very similar feelings to last year - hoping Boro play well, but not that confident. As it turned out, it was the game that Haysden Hackney really shone in and McGree scored that brilliant volley deep in the second half. If Boro can play as well as last year, I'll be well happy. Would love to see the 1-2 result with Isiah Jones crucifying their fullback to put in Latte Lath for 1 goal. Hackney is due a screamer from outside the box for the other. UTB
  5. Imagine this board next year if that's the case. It will go into meltdown with only a few signings lol.
  6. New signings should play, maybe LL coming on for second half. But how long does it take for work permits and visas to come through?
  7. I've only seen the YouTube video of him but I'd love to see him play in a Boro shirt. He looks to be really powerful and physical and not afraid to get amongst the defenders. Whilst defenders playing in the Swiss league aren't up to championship standards his YouTube show reel might be a little flattering, but personally I think there's enough there. Separately I would have preferred Ramsey to Archer. Boro really missed Ramsey at the end of the season and I think Archers form suffered because of that.
  8. Warnock didn't want him, neither did Wilder so the lad must have had a torrid time. I hope with Carrick now manager we'll see the real Payero, that we thought we were buying in the first place.
  9. He wasn't good for us agreed. But it was Wilder and his shakey defensive line up in front of him which gave rise to a huge lack of confidence. I'm sure in the right team he's a better keeper.
  10. I totally agree with you. My point about Nobby's Notebook is I enjoy reading it and the subsequent banter. So long as it remains banter.
  11. FMTTM - home to Nobby's Notebook, enuff said.
  12. I agree. I don't know what's gone on behind the scenes with Dijkstrel, but we do look more balanced and solid with him on the right. We talk about Jones' speed, but I don't think Dijks is that far behind him. Also, I think he makes Paddy less exposed as his speed means he can provide rapid assistance.
  13. That showreel reminds me of Hayden Hackney s game at Norwich. Goals apart. He looks a good player to me, would be happy if we signed him.
  14. I'd be happy with just Cody Drameh and Dan Barlaser this window, both would enhance our squad and be progressive signings rather than stopgap.
  15. You always write better early ln the morning, after a few beers. I agree with what your saying.. hence my preferred choice for the role is Edwards. His record with managing young teams for England is good and puts a good emphasis on what the role needs. Good football is another. Maybe the most important is to fit into the club's current philosophy. Whether Scott is the right man to drive that forward is another question. As for kicking a club out of malaise look at the job arteta has done at Arsenal. Is he a coach or manager, who knows but he's shown what an impact the right appointment can ha
  16. The opposition has sussed wilder ball. Rotherham were well organised and didn't let Boro play, but Boro should be able to change playing style in a match. When Jones had the ball there was always 3 or 4 Boro players close to him trying tippytappy play, meaning Jones got the ball in bad situations. No one seemed capable of getting the ball to Giles, who I don't think, had a decent ball to run into all night. Clarke and Giles doesn't work at the moment because there's just the 2 of them. Everyone else is over on Jones's side of the field. We can always improve the squad, but I think the players
  17. Have watched some of Sky Sports transfer deadline day - its not the same without Jim White.
  18. I'm Welsh too, but live nr Norwich now. Also passed my driving test in Cardiff. Lived in Boro for a few years and used to watch Souness playing at Ayrsome park. So that's 4 of us.
  19. This board is waking up late today... Looking forward to a few pints, a great game, with a cracking atmosphere to cut through this dank weather and COVID gloom. 2-1 Boro.
  20. Gdansk is a brilliant little city. Very friendly. Food was good everywhere we are, just check out trip advisor when your there. We didn't find eating expensive. There's loads to see, I was very moved by the museum celebration Poland's split from Russia, it's in part of the old dockyard and a river trip that takes you to the peninsula where ww2 started. Enjoy.
  21. In his short appearance on Saturday, siliki reminded me a little of Souness when he played for Boro. Will be interesting to hear the opinions of people attending tonight.
  22. Dylan Bahamboula Looks like could be a very exciting, low risk signing. Setting expectations - a squad signing, but with the potential to force himself into the starting line up. I hope he does well and impresses Warnock over the next few days.
  23. Some of us still get them.. you can't keep a good man down. PM me if you want to know how.
  24. V disappointing. I don't normally criticise individual players, but it looks like howsons legs have gone. Dijks looks to be still carrying some form of injury, bettanelli should have done better with a couple of the goals, fry looked off the pace. Bristol city players looked up for the game. Bola followed by McNair were best players going forward. Hope Fletch is ok.
