Simple answer to this thread title was that we employed him. One style that mainly kept teams from going down not going up. Statistics show to get out of this league you need attacking football. Defending and hoping to nick it doesn’t work, especially against other teams who turn up to park the bus. Fans expect a side struggling in the prem to play defensively away at old Trafford but not when you’re one of the favourites in the championship at home to Millwall or Bolton.

I think history tells us that promoting from within doesn’t bode well for us long or short term. I think Woodgate being part of the Pulis era would put several nails in a clasp tight shut coffin already without a ball even being kicked. Fans want a completely new start with fresh faces with some experience of some form.

Back to Britt I think with the right football philosophies in place he could be the lynchpin in making the top 6. He’s done well in a side set up to defend 0-0 most of the season and is a proven goal scorer at this level. Knowing Fulham and the blades are interested should be enough to say he can do a decent job for us with the right service.
