Danger would be that we sell Dieng and Brynn steps up and makes a few mistakes and the club gets pelters. I think Dieng stays anyway when we get promotion through the play offs.

Wouldn’t surprise me if McNair goes. Suits Wilders system if he is still in charge of Shef U next year. And been no talk of us trying to renew his contract unless I’ve missed something.
I still like McNair I think he takes a lot of stick (and has a lot of stick if that photo was anything to go by) but think he always puts in a consistent performance. Having said that I think Clarke covers that kind of player.

I know Arsenal were heavily linked with him during his QPR days and could certainly see them making a move for him if they sold Ramsdale. His goalkeeping style fits perfectly with how they want they GKs to play.
It’s one of them isn’t it.. how much was he did we sign him on a free if not I think it was a low fee? If we can get good money for him then it fits the model, providing we already have a replacement in mind.
personally I like Dieng a lot though and would be disappointed if he was sold.

I think you may be giving him too much credit. When I’ve watched him he seems to give away a lot of needless free fouls due to bad/clumsy tackles. So may just been one of those

Honestly I think Roger’s was targeted as the Akpom role player. Someone to link midfield and attack and who could also add goals.
really hope we can pull off some good signings this summer. Also think a few clubs could be in trouble having pushed the boat out, if they don’t get promoted so we could be in a decent position.

Blackburn although near the bottom have had a lot of draws lately so was probably to be expected. At least it wasn’t another poor home performance with sloppy goals against and 0 points. Still 21 points to play for

Agree I think the talk of us signing him before was maybe just that we were putting the feelers out to get him in the summer. Might be wrong but I recon we will be in for him when his contract ends

I’m surprised at how many goals LL has got to be honest. He seems to have good movement and pace but his control and finishing have me questioning if he is ready at this level. Hopefully next season he will be better

I wouldn’t be surprised if we hadn’t already enquired with Villa about a deal for him be it a straight loan or a loan to buy if promoted etc.
but then there was the article about them not activating the clause to bring him back so would look unlikely to me.

Would be profit on both players and probably both higher earners too. Would rather keep them, however I’d like to see us sign and out and out winger on both sides rather than shoehorning both of them

This season he was still played wide watching Crooks in his position and the whole team struggling. The writing is on the wall in his eyes.
Hes 24 and if he wants to establish himself as a good striker, maybe play prem football he hasn’t got much longer to do it and it’s most likely not gonna happen while Carrick is here. He would consider another season as a potential wide right option from the bench as a waste of time and set back to his career.
Just my opinion on what may be his thought process.
Yea all hypotheticals but he may think, had he been given the chance earlier in the season he would have been confident of having won us more games by now and be higher up the table maybe even play offs.
like you say, instead he’s seen Crooks, Silvera, McGree, others start instead up top. Easy to see why he’d be annoyed.

To be fair to our recruitment I think we have had a few good windows even tho they seem to get a lot of stick.
Out of all the signings this year if say there’s only Silvera that seems below par. but he has come from Auz so we may see a better player next year when he’s had a season behind him.
Greenwood hasn’t been amazing but he’s young and could improve IF we sign him permanent
Thomas hasn’t looked great but hasn’t had a pre season with us and a run of games so hard to judge.
Gilbert hasn’t featured enough to judge him either.

VDB looks class
Rogers was good business
LLath looks a good find
Azaz improving
OBrien showing signs after a run of games
LB’s both seem more then good enough at this level.
im confident that we will have a good summer
