I’d be playing a 5-3-2 keep it solid at the back with VDB, Fry, Clarke, Ayling and Engel. Have a two of Howson and Hackney with McGree being the one to kind of break free and join a front two of Greenwood and Forss

We can be good enough we’ve had some good performances but the problem is consistency. We’ve never really put a long run together and therein lies our problem this season. Doesn’t mean we won’t go on a winning streak for the rest of the season but the evidence doesn’t suggest it.

I’d play him RB vs our other options there. He was doing well there too and looks composed on the ball

You defend as a team though. There’s a reason we get cut wide open on the counter. Need to work on turning attack into defence when we loose the ball, and not loosing the ball sloppily when attacking in numbers. It’s not just the back 4.

Yea need the three points tonight. in hindsight, would people have rather we had gone out of the cup sooner? Fresher players, maybe less injuries etc? or would it have made no difference at all

Yea I thought it was a good listen. I do think the club is going in the right direction just needs time and patience. don’t get me wrong games like yesterday annoy me too as much as the next fan but we are going to have off days. We are a championship team after all. look at Brighton the other week. Even the bigger teams have off days

They won’t sack Carrick no way. I think they are the bigger picture. He’s had to work with what he’s got. maybe should have done better in some games but I think over achieving last season has done us more harm then good with expectations

Couple of things.. I’m all for this playing out from the back and when we do it well it’s nice to watch. But surely you should make the pass when the pass is there /easier, not try and play a tricky ball that will look good if you pull it off. Too many times lately we’ve been caught with sloppy or suicide passes. secondly think we lined up wrong again today. For me Hackney only works in the midfield two shouldn’t be part of the front 3. I’d have had Barlaser and Hackney as the two. McGree should have started with Azaz and Forss and Greenwood. when it wasn’t working I’d have move

Same old story have a chance to move up the table and shoot ourselves in the foot. If we played the game from the start like we did in the second half I feel like we would have won today

Yea was disappointed at the time that we missed out on him.

Thing with McGree in hindsight, if he had gone to Celtic he maybe would have been in a bigger shop window, European games etc and could have had a move to another club by now.

You mean Crystal Palace who have been a premier league team for 10 years and have a long top flight history, of course they are a bigger club
