Where's Drago? 0 Posted April 4, 2018 Share Posted April 4, 2018 Hello all, I'm researching a player from way back when; Sam Wightman. He signed for Merthyr Town from Workington in the 1909-10 season, but by December 1909 he'd already signed for Boro for £100 and a first team visit to Merthyr (which was played in March 1910). Other than Boro signing him, and this single match against his previous club, I've got no other reference to Wightman at Boro. I'm presuming Wightman was one of the players moved on during the end of the 1910-11 as he soon appears on Luton Town's books. Sam Wightman died after a kick to the stomach while playing against Brighton towards the end of the 1911-12 season. So, anybody out there have any info on Sam Wightman's stint at Boro all those years ago? Thanks! Jason Link to post Share on other sites
