Hey There You Crazy Cats & Kittens! (Soz...)

The team over at Super 6 have been running public polls to find the Premiership's Greatest Squad, with fans voting based on the best player to take each squad number 1-18.

Thought, in this time of unprecidented boredom, I'd run the Boro Edition here! We, however, will do 1-23 to make up a whole squad, and in order to incorporate one or two Boro legends who would've otherwise missed out.

You have until midday the following day to cast your vote, with the next squad number being released at 3pm each day.

NOTE: Some players had multiple squad numbers in their time at Boro. If they don't win their first vote, but I consider them among the Top 4 for their other number, I'll include them again to make sure we have the strongest options possible. They don't have to be solely judged on their time wearing that number.

ALSO NOTE: Starting from 95/96, and only allowing official squad numbers.

ADMIN: I realise this would take up loads of space on the forum, so feel free to archive votes after they're completed.

So, the beginning is above. An easy start really... Who do you want wearing the Number 1 jersey?

My first choice is pre 1995, my second choice wore the number 26 shirt, so I’ll go with my third choice, the Big Aussie, even though he couldn’t kick a ball in a straight line to save his life.
He certainly kept us on our toes with some Dimi level howlers over the years!

Jim Platt? Used to train me as a kid. Top bloke. Frank Spraggon too - a great football man with a permeant smile on his face while coaching.

EDIT: Had a mental breakdown about who was 26... Valdes. Obviously.

Always good to quiz the quiz master.

It’s funny how few of our best keepers have actually worn the number 1 shirt.

Aye. Schwarzer had it for such a long time it skews it a little. The other option was Brad Jones...

Interesting seeing what squad number we've had so much talent use, and other numbers you'd expect to be laden are quite lacking in depth!

Without wanting to sound like a misery it's not exactly the greatest Boro squad if we're only going back to 1995!

*I know you probably need a cut off point somewhere though *

It's based purely on the Super 6 rules, so take it up with them! 😛

And it's based on Squad Numbers, so there's an obvious cut off there.

Easily Schwarzer for me, Jim Platt was before my time and apart from Pears no one comes close to the big Aussie in my opinion.

Platt 1st IMHO 👍

Aye, as good as Schwarzer was Jim Platt was revolutionary at Ayresome Park. He'd left Boro before I was born, but watching it all back shows how important and talented he was.

Loves the Boro too. Legend.
