How’s that not a penalty?
Ref made 3 crap decisions against us now.
the foul on Spence early on and the fletcher one near the end. McNair was through on goal

Yep just said the same thing; a few interesting decisions for sure.

All in all a good first half. Midfield doing well. Attack looks a threat and is doing the basics well, i.e running the channels and getting us throws/corners in there third.

Would like to see us try get Roberts on the ball more in final 3rd.

Damn! Another good chance for Boro right at the end of stoppage time!

Denied by some last-ditch Stoke defending.

Well overall the first half has gone much as I expected. Pretty scrappy, with not too many chances at either end.

Boro just edged it, by virtue of the fact they converted one of their chances. Hoping we aren't going to rue the missed opportunities to make it 2 or even 3-0 at half time.

Big shout to Dejan for keeping us ahead with a couple of good saves.

Expect Stoke to come at us hard 2nd half - just hope we can weather the storm and maybe even seal the win with a second goal.

A friendly reminder that Woodgate benched this front 3 for Nmecha and Gestede.

Thank god he is gone, and fingers crossed hard that we hold on and win this one.

We have a passing accuracy of 45% though, which...is less than ideal. Suppose that's the result when you go long down channels.

Yes that really is impressively low.

We should be 2 up but we look good despite our low possession something never said under Woodgate who ceded possession week in week out for nothing and Pulis who ceded possession played an awful formation for counter attacking and was similarly 'direct'.

Shouldn't just compare what Warnock's gave us so far to Woodgate compare to Pulis he puts the pair of them to shame in terms of shape/formation/effectiveness/quality of set pieces. Hopefully we find a second goal we need all 3 points here it's massive.

Wonder if Warnock had a hand in gestede going, wonder if was more that Warnock told him to bugger off and telling Gibson hes on too much for what he does.

We need to get another goal early on.  Think we need more of a cushion.

I agree but also just picking Britt, fletcher, Roberts and Spence wasn’t rocket science. It just shows up how bad the previous manager was.

    • Boro flashback 26th October 1994 Our final season at Ayresome Park when Robbo was driving us towards promotion to the PL on this day we travelled to Villa Park for a league cup 3rd round fixture, after disposing of Scarborough 8-2 over two legs with both games finishing 4-1 in the previous round we travelled to Villa Park full of confidence to spring a suprise against  a Villa side who were struggling at home with only one home win to date 19,254 were at the game to see a future Boro player, Andy Townsend, score the only goal of the game in the 30th minute as Boro huffed & puffed but fell short of causing an upset against our PL opponents & our league cup adventure dispearered for another season

    • I was of that opinion for a while, but I shifted when I realised all ps4 games will be compatible with ps5 as well as getting a significant boost for many. So to me it makes sense to play the best possible version of these games now rather than wait a year or two to try to get the ps5 for 50 quid cheaper. If there was no backwards compatibility I probably would have waited.
