I really can't see FFP being implemented next season after the lack of action with City and the so far ineffectiveness of clamping down on Villa, Wednesday, Derby etc.

I can imagine next year they will waiver or even scrap FFP due to COVID19.

There is a vast difference to the domestic EFL FFP and uefas FFP. The latter looks dead in the water but I reckon the EFL and premier league are going to be more strict. Especially with Derby, Wednesday and potentially Villa as they did it pre COVID-19.

Ffp was a platini idea, there are a few in UEFA who want it gone or changed. At the top level it's not for for purpose and lower down the rung it's not stopping clubs going bust.

Danny Crowley has just been fired from Huddersfield. How about Neil Warnock as Director of Football and Cowley as manager? Think Cowley would want to play a similar style to Warnock and could build for the long term.

Cowley and warnock would work for me like. Pearson imo is the best of all worlds, experienced, not too fancy with how he sets teams up but also doesn’t park the bus.

Cant see either of them scenarios happening though, I’m 100% expecting warnock.

The problem isnt as such the manager, it's the recruitment team.

And Watford can keep their dirty mitts off our Neil as well ☺️

My grandfather-in-law has just turned 80 (bear with me, there's a point to this). He's still pretty active, still runs his businesses in his inimitable old-school way, and apart from surrendering his driving licence, is in reasonable health. Nor is he exceptional as an active octogenarian.

People keep saying Warnock will only be here for a year or so because of his age, but is that really the case? Yes he's 71, but he's seemingly incapable of retiring, he loves the Boro, and he's enjoying the job so much he apparently hasn't discussed wages yet. If he wanted to stay for a couple of seasons, I don't see why his age needs to be a barrier.

I do accept he's an old-school manager, but his Cardiff side played some good football en route to the PL, and the team he built dismantled ours at the weekend. And while I'd rather have Pearson now he's available, I don't really buy the whole 'Warnock won't be here for long' argument some people have been advocating lately.

Roy Hodgson is 73 in a couple of weeks.  He's done pretty well with Crystal Palace since joining in 2017.  Warnock seems to know how to put a team together and I think anything would be better than the tripe we've been served up this season.  He certainly has the enthusiasm, hopefully the energy and could (with his knowledge of the Championship) sort out the club regarding transfers etc. with his no-nonsense approach.

Age is all in the mind.  I speak from experience!

Not to derail the thread but Huddersfield are not getting Pearson. Widely reported they are wanting Bielsas first team coach from Leeds

Going around on Twitter that Aitor is going to Birmingham 😭

Birmingham seem to be even more of a mess than we are. Not sure how well that will go

    • I can’t agree that a striker would solve all our problems, it’s exactly that kind of thinking that has got us in this position back in 2017. What we need once and for all is footballers who can play in the attacking third and actually keep the ball up there and do stuff with it.  The likes of Jota, Gaston, watkins even *** ‘Chair’. THOSE are the style of players we need to bring in, not more strikers. Watching Brighton today was depressing, their interplay around utds area was great to watch, it was inventive and full of movement. I’m sick of seeing and saying the same thing about how we attack, how predictable and laboured it is. The reason it’s that way is our attacking players just haven’t got the technical ability. We are full of runners and crossers and hoofers, putting hopeful balls into areas. We generally scrap goals or punish opposition mistakes and we will NEVER score any meaningful amount without a decent pattern to our attack.
    • im obviously not suggesting that theres players with 100% conversion rate who scores every time,  i do however believe that there are plenty of strikers that will finish more often than not from 6 yards out like the two birtt britt chances today.
    • Marcus Maddison posted the below on Instagram today. We know Warnock likes a gamble with the likes of Taraabt and El Hadj Diouf. He could be just the person Marcus needs in his life to turn it around and be our outlet. marcusmaddison11 27 today 🥳 but can’t mask the fact that this year has been the worst of my life. No goals achieved, my best friend died 🐕😭, love life non existent ☠️ & now Jobless 🤷🏼‍♂️. So happy birthday To myself & knowing next year can’t be any worse surely 🤔🤨 #mm11 #birthday #inspire #life#job #dad #dog
    • The thing is we need wingers who create 20 chances a game like Leeds United did for Bamford and co last season 😄. As we currently only create 1 chance if ya lucky per game.
    • This match showed what we all know is we need to sign some left Wingbacks or actual wingers. As we were better than QPR in every department but the wings that they exposed us on.
