SmogDane 4,055
I know these higlights videos can be really deceiving, but damn Hoilett looks like some player!
Snowblind 1,734
Hoilett is the sort of player fans would be excited about. And the sort of player we've been crying out for since Adomah left. Think The Ass would thrive with Hoilett's creativity too.

Will 2,958
Leonardo Lopes linked to Leeds 😔
Skinemrippers 895
We don’t seem to be getting as many proper leaks these days. Hall came from nowhere and wasn’t mentioned by any of the ITKs and now Hoilett (fingers crossed this is a concrete link and not lazy journalism). Really hope we can get another signing in by early next week though, we needed 6 or 7 in by most people’s reckoning.
mj south 613
Well Warnock wanted another in thus week and has no doubt been chewing Gibson ear all week so we may get a weekend exclusive yet
Snowblind 1,734
Could do with some more in, obviously - but still... Worth a look

Worth a look I think that the amos link seems credible so I teckon were in the market for a specialist defensive midfielder which I'd be very happy about. Replace saville with a Clayton from 5 years ago and that is a solid lineup. Though i still think well see a couple of upgrades in defence too.

Worth a look I think Dijksteel's ahead of Spence, I don't even know if Warnock's commented publicly on Fry since he came in Pulis and Woodgate were always glowing of the Berwick Hills Beckenbauer seems ominous for his prospects next season imo. I think Coulson seems safe but it could just as easily be Bola given Warnock's unease at putting Coulson in for the run in. I don't think we're telling Amos he's going to be a squad player either if he anchors a 3 man midfield it makes sense given Warnock prefers 433 he loves Saville so stick him left centre mid and Wing/McNair/Howson can eye up the other CM position unless he wants a more creative option in there as well as another new face. Tav ended well but Warnock would be crazy to pencil him into the starting XI he's not that important yet, Roberts coming back I'm sceptical of he would tick the take a set piece box maybe but I think we need fresh blood across the pitch I don't see how we can put out 4 out of 5 of the back line that we ended last season with when it was clearly inadequate for what Warnock wants same in attack if it's 433 and we accept Britt starts when fit you need 2 new faces up there nothing against Roberts because he got injured but we can't put out the same faces that were some of the lowest scorers in England last season and expect them to pull in the extra 25 goals Warnock will want and need. I hope he sticks with Stoj I think he's got a good size and dive on him he has a high ceiling.
TheJew 2,937
Tav IS that important. Completely changes the team dynamic when he plays.
BoroJake 2,345
I'd be interested to see how dijksteel would play at defensive midfield. He played there at times for charlton didn't he? It would allow spence to play right back

I don't think Tav is a starting winger for a promotion team he contributes to a goal roughly every 5 games the same numbers Adam Reach produced for us under Karanka so if you use that as your gage I don't remember many saying Reach was undroppable! Sure Tav found consistency and had an impact in the last few games but he's not on that level yet he starts the season as a rotation and bench option if he keeps his form going then he's in the undroppable conversation. Maybe Woodgate was right that he could be an attacking central midfielder we'll see where Warnock plays him but Tavernier the winger has a way to go to convince me he's of the level consistently to be an absolute starter. Don't think he is a winger personally in the old fashioned sense. I think there are a lot of similarities between him and Jarrod Bowen. Tav has the ability to beat man, he runs forward with the ball, can create, has one heck of shot and always looks to play the ball forward. Who else in our Midfield can do that?! First name on team sheet for me.
Snowblind 1,734
@Jamie-H - I agree we'll see further improvements and developments. If Gibson came in and played alongside Hall, on paper at least that's one of the most sound and experienced Championship CB partnerships you're likely to see at this level. Two lads who can help organise the team from the back. And stick Amos in there alongside Howson and that midfield suddenly has more balance than we've had for years. I'd be cautiously optimistic if it were Dijksteel at RB after his upturn in performances. Think Warnock will be looking at 2-3 different systems according to who we play, and Dijksteel can play RB, RWB, RCB (in a back 3) or DM, so his versatility will definitely be an asset. If he can reproduce his recent form more consistently for sure. Dijksteel's upturn under Warnock has highlighted the positive traits he has which had us move for him. It does give me hope that, under a manager far more intelligent and insightful than Woodgate, we may see similar in the likes of Bola and Browne.

Tav is more of a Jesse Lindgard I think and can play in a number of positions. I also think we look a different team with him in it; he's always postive, looks to break forward and is very mobile. I actually think he's just the type of player to suit Warnocks preferred style of play.
