Looks like those Mbe Soh rumours had some truth in them afterall, probably end up signing a new deal now though. This account is very reliable.

We were only in contact with him to see if he knew where Sanogo was 🙂

Could be training with them and getting match fitness

That's ridiculous whoever trains with a team he's not playing for...to keep fit

Don't buy that at all.  I don't see Warnock being enticed back to management with a nice 14th placed finish in mind.

This makes more sense than anything

Of course he deals with agents or rather the club does.  I think he has previously had certain things to say about them but we've always dealt with agents.

I just can't see why Warnock would move from one end of the country to another for a short term job with absolutely no ambition to achieve anything.  I suppose we could be paying him an absolute fortune, and he's just here for the money, but it doesn't feel like that to me.

seen alot of post of people saying "dont worry most clubs arnt signing people", here the problem with that.  we have the joint smallest squad in the championship, only level with wycombe, and heres why our situation is worse, of the  20 players in the squad, 9  are 22 years old or younger. in fact were the 3rd youngest squad in the championship.

So were not only the smallest squad in the league, but also one of the youngest, add to this the fact we barely survived relegation last season and were one of the lowest scoring teams. we've lost 9 players who were in an around the first team and brought in one. From my prospective the outlook is pretty worrying.

finally, all though i agree all clubs are in the same situation and struggling in the market currently,, the situation and set up differs from club to club, and i dont think theres a club in the league in worse situation than Middlesbrough right now, couple this with our poor track record of signings over the last few seasons and i see no cause for optimism.

I don't think it is though.

I'm just kidding. I kind of agree with you, its hard to see Warnock coming out of retirement to make up the numbers. It was just a different way of looking at it.

I suppose we'll see in the next few weeks how ambitious we are.

See a lot of people saying other clubs haven't acted. Well Coventry City have just signed Tyler Walker on a permanent, making that their 7th transfer already. They have one of the most highly rated Head of Recruitment's in the country in Chris Badlan.

All their 7 signings have an average age of 22.4. They will be an exciting team to watch next season. I wish we had ambition like that and a backroom staff capable of pulling off signings of young promising players.

I've no doubt he's earning a bit of dosh here but why waste so much money on one year of Neil Warnock? It makes no sense if the whole reason he's here is to get us through cutting costs. Exactly the same way it didn't make sense when we paid Pulis a fortune to do it.

Just seen your other response, nvm hah.

    • My personal favourite quote from Woodgates interview with Carragher - “I just wanted to get away after I was sacked, but we were in a lockdown. So I went to Ibiza for 4 weeks.”    That quote alone tells you we were absolutely mental to give woodgate the job at boro 😂 couldn’t wait to go and get off his face
    • Meanwhile at a Tony Pulis Sheffield Wednesday home game.... 1 shot on target 22% possession... 3 shots on target in 4 games
    • Maybe it was the total count of all games played. 😗
    • I think the general feeling around his appointment wasn't personal, it wasn't an agenda against him, it's what putting him in charge represented, the downfall of the club, some referred to it as the idea that our club simply hadn't bottomed out yet and putting Woodgate in charge and what happened with him in charge only created evidence of that. In the end, nobody was gonna look beyond that when results weren't going his way, they weren't going to stand by him because it meant standing by the club and their decision to appoint him too. I had a hard time with it because I wanted him to do well, I wanted to believe we could create what he said we could under his tenure... but we were going down, we got rid and we stayed up. And now this season, despite the fact we're not even close to the principles we set out at the start of last season, we are going back in the right direction. How can anyone be anything but more convinced that Woodgate was a dreadful appointment? Those that were thinking more personally because of his character were really not even close to being 50% of the fanbase. Those that brought up the Leeds thing and all that, that was a small minority of people. So if it's not them he means then who is he saying had an agenda against him? Those that thought he wasn't going to be a very good manager at the time we appointed him? Because they were right.
