Sanogo might be off. Fell through i think. Trying to find out a bit more

Must be medical related at this late stage?

If true has to be something medical related as tapout says.

He wouldnt be on his own, he'd be part of a 3. I appreciate thats not how it would work out under Warnock though

i liked it when tav was with roberts. they linked up well and brought in spence out wide to. i'd like them like this:

--------------britt

marv-----roberts------tav

----------sav---morsy?

LB?---hall dijksteel spence

with tav and roberts interchanging and cutting in etc. leaving big spaces out wide right for spence. have a strong left side defence so we only have the one defensive weak spot at right back. with spence advanced we bring dijksteel across to the right and marv covers back over. he has the legs to get up and down.

i thought the midfield 3 were actually isolated from the defence and attack vs shrewsbury. its almost like none of them were talking to each other. id ditch howson and wing asap. think i'd even have paddy in over them after that game.

I don't know the reason i'll be honest, just that it might have fallen through.

fmttm is about as reliable as Dong Gook was on a cold night at the riverside

So the source on fmttm could be right about Sanogo? 👀

I'm not too bothered if Sanogo deal is off if we get Woodrow in. As Woodrow is proven

I thought something wasnt right about it. Seemed to drag on abit too long. Maybe why warnock seemed disappointed today

    • Well it's game day and finally I am looking forward to watching the Boro again. Yes the games come thick and fast but it is a bonus when you really do look forward to the matches. Such a difference a year makes. 3 away points are due so why not today? UTB!
    • @Redcar Rioja I'd start with the same team that started against Derby, partly for the reasons you mentioned above in terms of ability for NW to control the game. But also I can imagine the first 60 minutes of today being a very tight game. Huddersfield play a similar style to us in terms of a man to man system (If you believe the Brentford head coach), and I can envisage them being compact in defence and matching us 1 on 1. With Roberts, Tav and Whatmore behind the lone striker they (in my opinion) are more likely to unlock a compact defence than if Johnson or Spence were starting. If we can entice Huddersfield to push forwards and move away from their marking style later in the game, that's when I'd bring Johnson and Spence on, that way they can exploit the space that will open up. If we can nick a goal before that point Huddersfield may open up sooner in pursuit of the equaliser.  I think the first goal today will decide the winner of the game. I have a hunch we'll win this game 0-2.
    • Wrong George, I meant Saville, where on earth did Friend come from???? Subliminal thinking, instinctively programmed for years, that of course and I hadn't had my coffee yet! 😁 Clearly gone but not forgotten.
    • Oh dear mate. I have some bad news to tell you about Friend 🙁
    • With the amount of Subs now allowed I wouldn't be surprised if NW threw the gauntlet down to Roberts and Watmore after the Johnson and Spence cameos the other night and started with them again. With match fitness a question mark over both I would guess he would rather start with them and then plan to take them off when tiring rather than maybe having to put them on early as a Sub if an injury occurred. Warnock seems very protective of his players and the risk of them picking up injuries which is why I think he may start with Roberts and Watmore as it gives him more in-game control. The obvious choice would be if he started with those that finished on Wednesday night but I suspect he will want to keep morale high across the squad and keep faith in Watmore and Roberts knowing that he can fall back on Johnson and Spence. Whatever he goes with he has my confidence and trust which is something I don't think I have felt about a Boro Manager in a very long time.
