Meanwhile, Chelsea left-back Baba Rahman's loan to Middlesbrough has hit a hitch.

Watford are also interested and will try to hijack the deal before Friday's domestic deadline.

Small line from the Mail article last night about Moses going to Russia

I thought he went to Israel 🤷‍♂️

Warnock says he is expecting exits today. Wonder who they might be. Pears is probably one it seems

Pears, Wing, Folarin, Walker seem the likely ones.

Apparently a defender is no longer a priority. I wonder if that means Hall will be back sooner than expected, or possibly that we won't be playing 5 across the back any more?

Or I suppose we could have a free agent lined up, which obviously there's no rush for.

Warnock -

You can only sign them if you can agree terms. We've been after strikers in the last couple of weeks and, quite frankly, we've not really been near to matching the financial terms.

"You've just got to look at the best you can do for the team, to bring somebody in that could make a difference.

"It's no good bringing somebody in who's not as good as the young lads we've got. We've got to bring somebody in that's better.

"That's where we're looking. We've got five or six targets - one or two are doable, one or two I think are very unlikely.

"We've just got to make sure we've got back-ups because we need another one in."

The fact that we're still looking for Strikers would say that we're still looking at the 3-5-2 formation even if we get Bolasie?

😂 We know what's gonna happen here.

He'll choose the leafy suburbs of Lewisham rather than live in the hell hole that is Teesside.

Depends how long fletcher is out though doesn’t it? On his Instagram post he thought it would be months. I do think we will continue with the 3-5-2 though

Sounds like we're getting a striker whatever happens today, will be resorting to some of the free agents if we fail with a transfer.

    • As far as I have read all countries have been put into different tiers and players are awarded points according to league, international games, caps etc. It doesn't matter if you are EU or non-EU. It's easier for some south american players than before Brexit but certainly not easier than a European. https://worldfootballindex.com/2020/12/work-permits-premier-league-post-brexit-english-clubs-efl-libertadores/
    • Does anyone else think we will struggle to get any players from the Premier League on loan?  I think the managers might look at the Roberts situation and think that their player might get more game time elsewhere.. just a thought.
    • Every football manager players eyes light up as they furiously scout South American regens.
    • Tav's injury has probably heightened the need for some creative flair needing to be added to the squad. Am I the only one that is wondering if it's the boots that Tav is wearing that is causing him to slip? The Ground staff didn't have a normal summer to reseed or relay the pitch or whatever they normally do but lets face it the Riverside pitch is still light years ahead of many if not most at this level. I didn't see Spurs or Man City players slipping any more than their lesser opponents in the cup. Come to think of it I didn't notice Blackburn players slipping much either. He seems to be wearing these laceless Mutator Predator boots (happy to be corrected) if my eyesight is not deceiving me. Are they also the same boots that Marcus Browne was wearing? If so that is two players down due to footwear as much as the state of the pitch. About time NW issued them with good old fashioned brown boots as I used to call them with real "men's" studs! Meanwhile we are now scouring for loans and additional wages that the Club can ill afford.
    • The new work permit rules will make it harder to sign European players but it will now be easier to sign players from outside the EU.
