With the right manager, no reason we can't get the best out of them. The problem we have right now is not with our strikers. Dosnt meen that were not trying to sign players in other areas becasue were linked with a striker tho

You do realise we were just in a relegation battle in the second division in England Yes the top flight French side, have you watched any of the french league outside the top 4? It's *** horrendous. Sanogo contributed to a huge 22 total goals scored by Toulouse last year, lowest in the division by a long way. For context, Britt and Fletch got the same amount between them last season as the entire Toulouse side. 1
smogsterking the Inspirati 2,453
We are long overdue an unflattering signing that surprises and pays off so I'm always hopeful the next guy (maybe Sanogo) can be that guy. I wonder what sort of reaction Uwe Fuchs would have got when we signed him. Edited August 24, 2020 by smogsterking the Inspirati
LBP 3,012
Do people really think we'd have scored more the past 2 seasons with different strikers even though we have/had the most uninspiring attacking midfield and winger options in the entire league?

We all have our own opinions but there's absolute nonsense spouted on Internet forums as well. In reality we couldn't lace the boots of the worst Boro players either if we ever got the chance 😂 Wouldnt be suprised if at some point they were sat around and someone said 'Ive heard there is a OneBoro forum member who lurks in this changing room' and all eyes swung to Kike Sola

This is the key question. We can buy all the strikers we like, and talk about how our strikers don't help the rest of the team all we like, how about the rest of the team helping the strikers? How about actually creating chances?
Weasel 965
I for one welcome the Yaya Sanogo redemption arc happening at Middlesbrough FC. 3

scotty189 925
As the number 3 striker what's not to like, strong, pacy, different to fletch and Assombalonga, much like the blackpool lad most wanted.

Benrahma was arguably the best player in the chamionship last season and he came for Ligue 2, Matheus Pereira came in with a poor Bundesliga record and once again was one of the best players in the league, Diédhiou from Bristol came for Ligue 2, Niclas Eliasson came from a swedish league. None of these players had stand out stats and have done very well in the championship, this ideal that they must have a glowing record to sign for a second division club is nonsense

They might not be the problem but we were never going into the season with just Britt and Fletcher, we need bodies in and different options. I would love to see Britt and Fletcher playing together and doing well but would I guarantee them as starters? no I wouldnt because they dont always do enough for the team

Very good, must be the managers as Sanogo has been positively prolific elsewhere...
