Hi guys! PAOK fan here from Greece. You are getting a really hard worker in Akpom. He is a top lad and a good professional. When he first came, he was considered a bench player. It was the 2018-19 sea

Morsy nearly done

Williams fee nearly agreed. 1.75million rising to 2.5 (So 1.75 then 😂).

Warnock tells Talksport there are a couple of free agents he is interested in, but he is still waiting for the green light from the club

maybe fletch abd britt are not even injured but pretending under nw instruction so we can force gibbo to give green light on transfers

What the hell is that green light. Just get it done. We currently have one senior fit striker and are playing two games a week. Unless he's trying to sign Sturridge on a 100k 4 year deal then give him some reinforcements.

The green light is the same one we gave to sign Assombalonga, Braithwaite, Fletcher, six months after signing Gestede and Bamford.  The green light should never just be given.  Who is the striker?  How good is he?  How much will he cost?  How much is he likely to play?  Are we going to end up with one up front and three strikers sat on the bench?  You've got to do things the right way or you end up paying for it somewhere down the line.

Neal B gets a lot of bashing on here. But he is also responsible to ensure the club keeps in compliance with FFP etc. I am sure he has made mistakes along the way but sometimes I  think when things don't happen it happened for the better e.g. a gready agent or player.

It will be interesting to know what player(s) Warnock wants but question is where is money coming from especially considering no ticket revenues.

Why is anyone still a free agent when we have been through a long transfer window? Unless they have been injured with a long term problem, then the only logical reason is that they want more than any club is willing to pay. (Either in wages or length of contract etc.). That being the case, either they aren’t good enough in the eyes of most managers or they are thinking that by waiting some club will be desperate and pay them over the odds. On that basis, Hopefully Warnock won’t sign them if it’s the former reason and if the latter reason  we aren’t going to sign them without long negotiations and making them more realistic.

its not even as simple as saying let’s sign someone until the next transfer window.  Anyone decent still free will want long term security - a contract until Christmas isn’t much different to the short term contracts a lot of them refused to sign in April/May. Sign the wrong player now and we will be stuck with a long term liability.

As things stand come the end of the season we will have only one striker, thats akpom. Both fletcher and Britt will be out of contract unless we can get one or both to sign new deals.

I’d imagine we have options to extend for a year.

The only time I've really watched Niasse was when he was on loan with Hull in the Premier league and he looked pretty good.

If Warnock could get the best out of him he'd be an excellent signing.

Niasse AND Sakho is what is required.

Niasse can play wide as well as through the middle. Sakho is a decent target man. Completely different players but both would improve us if we are serious about competing this season.
