I think that Shane Duffy is possibly out of contract at Brighton. He would be a good addition as a Warnock Centre Half

Contract shows as being until 2023

Ok he must have renewed. He signed a four year deal in 2016 so I thought it was up this year.

@Blanco happily take Duffy if he was available. Good defender.

I think if Gibson comes him and Fry at CB would be a good pairing.

We then need to replace Shotton who will leave given he wants to go back to Midlands and widely reported to be on a good wage. I think Friend will be the 4th CB at the club.

Warnock strikes me as someone who might offer Richard Keogh a lifeline. Keogh is 34 next month but ticks all the boxes of what Warnock wants in a defender. Would not hugely surprise me if Warnock offered him a 12 month deal to be back up tp Fry and Gibson / a experienced leader amongst the team

I also wouldn’t want us to sign Keogh. A solid defender in his day, but past his prime and with his bad knee injury he’s going to be a liability.

Am I the only one not bothered about Gibson coming back? Don't think he's looked half the defender outside of AK's system.

Not at all. I think he would be too expensive too. But if it doesn’t take away money from the transfer and wage budget the id happily take him though.

He’s no finished, he’s only 28

He’s turning 34 in August. I wouldn’t even have had him in his prime.

I like us to have a look at Rob Dickie from Oxford, 24 year old no nonsense center back who's contract ends 2021, I think he'd be a real good signing and definitely fits our transfer strategy

I’d like us not to look at lower league players this summer if we want to strengthen the first team.

    • Dodgy one to predict but aren’t all BORO games. So both teams have scored 6 for with BORO conceding 5 and Coventry 14, so the odds are on for us to take 3 points, or or are they. Possibly not as it suggests both teams struggle to hit the target although it also suggests Coventry properly get more up to the half line, but only because they kickoff more then we do after conceding more goals.  Surly if there was ever a game for a midfield or strike force to showcase there skill, this is one they must be licking there lips at and demanding to be picked. The squad must be thinking, finally a game we can loosen up a bit and be creative, finally a chance to rack up a few assists or goals and look a bit more respective in the stats table. Or will they?    I think we will concede but I also think we are capable of 3 goals so I’m going with 3-1 and 3 more points.
    • We have played the top four already and even QPR and Cardiff away are not easy games. Once the amount of games rack up and the quality of the opponents, good, bad and mediocre levels out amongst all the sides we should have a better idea. As it is only Reading, Bournemouth and Boro are unbeaten in the last six games in the Championship. If Howson's goal had stood and had the Ref blew for the infringement on Saville we would be in on 14 points. No doubt there will be a lot more if only's through the season and hopefully fortune going our way but if we can avoid injuries and suspensions we could be in a good place come January when the window opens again. Sometimes its best to fly under the radar, I imagine that while Reading are enjoying life at the moment the pressure of expectation is building.
    • I think it's the hair colour.  Souness had darker hair, Ashcroft's was lighter.  He does look angry though, so that's definitely a Souness trait 👍
    • On reflection, it does look more like Billy Ashcroft than Souness. Nevermind 🤣🤣🤣
