Haven't the club been banging on about the scouting system, the databases and the moneyball system since Mowbray was here.

They clearly can't use it.

I'd rather we looked abroad for some talent and flair ala Brentford.

We should just stalk their scouts.

I would imagine in this day and age every club has access to these tools.

It would give a potential rehabilitation route for people convicted of stalking.  Although I suppose as we'd be asking them to do more stalking then it might not be the best environment for them 🤔

Good shout!

I know we have been scouting Cedric Kipre from Wigan.

If we got any sense and do want him then we would be trying to agree a fee with Wigan right now for him given they desperate need for cash.

Think Brighton just signed a player very cheaply from them this past week

Shame about Moukoudi. I thought he looked promising when he came in Jan and was surprised Warnock didn’t seem to fancy him over Friend or even Fry at the back. I think he might well go on to bigger things as many players who leave us without really making an impact do.

Probably our only centre back with pace.

Far better than Fry and Friend based on what little I'd seen

Yeah that one bums me out, think the kid clearly has a lot of talent. Alas, Warnock isn't going to like a primarily ball playing cb.

I wish we could find our own Pablo Hernandez

Been missing that exact type of player since Gaston's DMs on Instagram got leaked

This lad is one to keep an eye on. Got great natural striking instincts.

I'm sure we can beat that out of him soon enough.

I've heard good things about him and the fact he was linked to some of the bigger clubs as well shows there is some potential. We just have to hope he stays grounded and gets a fair shot. Hopefully he's one of the academy's success stories and not another Porritt/Park etc.

Would be great to actually get a striker from our academy that scores consistently for us.

Nice to see another emerging young Irish attacking talent, even better when hes at boro.

If parrott, obafemi, Connolly and this fella all progress as they're expected we could have a bright future, at least from an attacking perspective!

    • Definitely Ashcroft.
    • Dodgy one to predict but aren’t all BORO games. So both teams have scored 6 for with BORO conceding 5 and Coventry 14, so the odds are on for us to take 3 points, or or are they. Possibly not as it suggests both teams struggle to hit the target although it also suggests Coventry properly get more up to the half line, but only because they kickoff more then we do after conceding more goals.  Surly if there was ever a game for a midfield or strike force to showcase there skill, this is one they must be licking there lips at and demanding to be picked. The squad must be thinking, finally a game we can loosen up a bit and be creative, finally a chance to rack up a few assists or goals and look a bit more respective in the stats table. Or will they?    I think we will concede but I also think we are capable of 3 goals so I’m going with 3-1 and 3 more points.
    • We have played the top four already and even QPR and Cardiff away are not easy games. Once the amount of games rack up and the quality of the opponents, good, bad and mediocre levels out amongst all the sides we should have a better idea. As it is only Reading, Bournemouth and Boro are unbeaten in the last six games in the Championship. If Howson's goal had stood and had the Ref blew for the infringement on Saville we would be in on 14 points. No doubt there will be a lot more if only's through the season and hopefully fortune going our way but if we can avoid injuries and suspensions we could be in a good place come January when the window opens again. Sometimes its best to fly under the radar, I imagine that while Reading are enjoying life at the moment the pressure of expectation is building.
    • I think it's the hair colour.  Souness had darker hair, Ashcroft's was lighter.  He does look angry though, so that's definitely a Souness trait 👍
    • On reflection, it does look more like Billy Ashcroft than Souness. Nevermind 🤣🤣🤣
