That wouldn't surprise me about you 😴🤭

I'm not really a bingo player but I do have a LOT of board games.

I'm wondering if you're better suited to managing the organised chaos that is Pandemic, maybe you'd want to battle it out one on one in a little war game of Memoir '44, maybe join me for a dungeon dive in Gloomhaven...

...if all else fails, you can get your inner Susie Dent/Rachel Riley to the table for Countdown.

Hi guys! PAOK fan here from Greece. You are getting a really hard worker in Akpom. He is a top lad and a good professional. When he first came, he was considered a bench player. It was the 2018-19 sea

Morsy nearly done

Williams fee nearly agreed. 1.75million rising to 2.5 (So 1.75 then 😂).

Okay fair enough, I'm probably judging the individual's style of play based on the little bit I've read about Goode and Northampton. But do you think we would be interested if it wasn't for his physicality?

So far, we have been linked with target men, two full backs who, having read the Reading and Sheff Wed fans forums, aren't very good when they cross the halfway line, and a centre half who played for a route one team, is 6ft5 and is a long throw specialist. Do you not think, based on this information, it is reasonable to assume that our game plan might not be the most entertaining next season?

This is not the same as me saying that I think all four of these signings will be terrible signings. They will probably all do very well in a Warnock set up. I'm just anxious as to what a Warnock set up might look like.

I think there may have been a different reaction, with those concerned about Warnock's appointment, if we were to have been linked with a few pacy wingers, given we are massively lacking in that area. And maybe Warnock is thinking let's build from the back first. Which is completely fair. But, at the moment, I feel that the doubts around the Warnock appointment are only being supported by the types of players that we have been linked with so far. Let's hope that the links to more attacking players are to come soon!

after the last 2 seasons weve had, i think entertainment should be the least of our concerns, we survived by the skin of our teeth and personally i think were not in a position to have the luxury of worrying about playing exciting football.

additionally, why are you anxious about how warnock will set up? we know his style he's been in the game for over 40 years. He likes no nonsense defenders and always signs them wherever he goes, but he also likes pace on wings and signs a creative player or 2. he likes his side to play football but also will keep it simple and go long when necessary.  To get anxious cause Warnock wants to a sign a 6'5 defender suggests you know very little about the man.

Furthermore, to worry cause weve been linked with centre backs, full backs and striker again seems daft, these are the positions were shortest/weakest in, of course were gonna be linked with players in these positions.

My point would be your projecting alot of doom and gloom from our first concrete transfer rumour of the summer when we know full well were signing about 8 players this window. Lets wait and see what our squad looks like in a months time rather than worrying cause were signing a 6,5 centre back.

An assumed style of football, which we didn't play at all in the 8 games Warnock was in charge and which Cardiff didn't play

Have a little read through Cardiff forums and you’ll find that that’s not entirely true. I spent quite a bit of time on there the other day. You’ll find half of them on there absolutely love him for reuniting the club and getting them promoted. However the other half talk about his “extinct” direct style of football and he’s even referred to by one fan as a football dinosaur. The last person I seem to have seen referred to with that term is big Tony himself.

I have looked into Warnock and seen a few of his team's over the years, they're direct but nothing at all like a Pulis side that we saw at Boro. Pulis is renowned for not training the offensive side of his game which is not at all true of Warnock, the idea he is some kind of 442 long ball merchant is either naive or purposely obtuse

I found this BBC story interesting

I think a Warnock side will be functional and effective, nothing more, nothing less. He isn't going to sign Players that doesn't fit his blueprint, a blueprint that has served him well more often than not. Whether we would prefer a Klopp or a Guardiola blueprint is irrelevant, not that I wouldn't enjoy it if successful but I will enjoy not seeing Boro look unbalanced, tactically clueless and losing each week.

I doubt many on here would disagree (although I'm sure some would no doubt find something) that our squad was and still is unbalanced. We need defenders and not just one or two, we also need back up defenders to boost the squad. Warnock's defenders are usually not to be messed with or pushed aside easily. They may not be Beckenbauer's in style but nor does he want that type or have a use for them, they don't fit his mould. I'm not even certain that Ben Gibson is a good fit but we shall see what transpires with that one.

What I hope he doesn't do is spend £20m on overpriced Players that we then get stuck with if they prove to be more Bola than Beckham. Like Bola if Goode doesn't make it they can be sold for near enough what they cost and thats not saying that Warnock doesn't make something out of Bola yet, I have more belief in him in that respect than with the previous Manager. He has stated repeatedly about having a solid spine and that will sure as heck mean big strong players rather than artistic talent.

Worst case is we lose a few hundred thousand on him, makes a big change from us losing millions plus there is the hope that he might be the next Harry Maguire and heaven forbid we actually climb the table and/or sell him Brentford style and make a few quid on the way.

No the worst case is we sign a player from tiers below us to play in the team and we find out he is not nearly good enough leaving us very short on quality and having to play people out of position to cover it (Bola and Browne for recent examples). I’m not comfortable with signing players who’s only done well at league 2. Fair enough if he’s coming as a squad player but it’s a huge step up from league 2 to the Championship. So I think it’s a good idea to sign league 2 players? No. Will he be a good signing? Time will tell but recent history suggests it won’t make us stronger.

doesn't someone on here live in Northampton? surely they have the local opions

For my sins I live in Northampton, famous for shoes and a bus station that was once dubbed "The Mouth of Hell".

He is really highly regarded down here, by the fans but also the club itself. He signed last summer for The Cobblers. At the time it was a bit of a coup as bigger clubs (League One) wanted him. Then in January there was a lot of interest in him again, once the Jan window closed one of Thomas (Chairman) or Curle (Manager) said the best bit of business was keeping him. He is easily Northampton's best player, was also made captain not long after being signed. I'd argue he is in the top 5 best League Two players. Whether he'd be able to cope stepping up from League 2 to the Championship is a big risk.

I think he has similarities to Ayala in a sense, in terms of he is physical and good in the air, but he does have a mistake in him when he is faced with an attack with pace. Northampton vs Derby at Sixfields exposed that a little, as he should have given a penalty away but the ref missed it. From what I have also seen from him I don't think he is the best with the ball at his feet, but I don't think Warnock will be signing him based on that.

People who are liking Warnock to Pulis clearly not seen a Warnock team play. Warnock style of play is more akin to Karanka than Pulis.

To suggest he ultra defensive is just plain wrong. He sets up from a solid base like Karanka that is all but has enough attacking players in a  lteam to ensure its not boring. I did not find watching us in the laat 8 games boring or us not having a go.

Functional and effective sounds perfect, last two managers we had like this, won us a cup and the other got us promoted and gave us two of the greatest years I've had as a boro fan of 25 years

Jesus, the doom and gloom merchants are out in full force. This is our first concrete rumour of the summer, a summer in which we know we will probably be signing at least 6 to 8 players.  I understand that boro dont have a good track record of signing bargin gems from lower leagues, but Warnock does, lets give him a chance at least. I mean all this negativity from one potential signing is awful, can we not reserve our judgement till were signed a couple of players at least? would that not be the logical thing to do?
