Because (a) we have two strikers who've been starved of service for years, and (b) a lack of wide creative play has been perhaps our biggest Achilles heel in recent seasons. Even last year, our defence was mid-table in terms of goals conceded. Where we consistently fall down is supplying service to the strikers. Personally, I'd say a Gaston-type player is even more important than width, but I'd prioritise wingers ahead of LB (two players already in situ) and RB (two players already in situ), however much we might argue about the relative merits of those players. 3 Link to post Share on other sites

I think we need a more experienced left back, but I'd prioritise attacking players over that. But we do need another centre back whoever else we sign. Goalkeeper is the last position we need to worry about, and I'll actually be angry if the club spend money on that position at the expense of anywhere else. 1 Link to post Share on other sites
