The Summer/Autumn transfers thread 2020 aka TURN DOWN FOR WHAT(more)

Recommended Posts

What's worrying about this is 2 weeks ago Warnock said he'd seen a virus going around the camp and a few players hadn't looked themselves.C oulson tested negative though when he had a virus maybe him being negative lowered the concern about the other lads who were sick like Stojanovic?

Here's hoping we've got Akpom over the line just to have something on the bench at least, this has been a nightmare start to the season anything to make tomorrow look a little brighter I'll take it.

Hi guys! PAOK fan here from Greece. You are getting a really hard worker in Akpom. He is a top lad and a good professional. When he first came, he was considered a bench player. It was the 2018-19 sea

Morsy nearly done

Williams fee nearly agreed. 1.75million rising to 2.5 (So 1.75 then 😂).

Considering how tiny our squad is its going to be immediately obvious who the player is come line up time so I dont see why they don't just tell us!

Apparently when Fry was out it was medical privacy stuff that stopped them sharing who it was.

How often do the players actually get tested in this league, anyone know?

AFAIK there's no regular testing anymore, at least not weekly / twice a week like in the restart. Too expensive.

They dont get routinely test this season. Only if a player develops symptoms.

This seems like a massive balls up by the EFL.

I think it was down to cost. There was a bit in a gossip column this am which suggested Premier league clubs were willing to pay for swabbing of their opponents in the carabao Cup.

It's too expensive. Testing everyone at the club can cost upwards of 15k a time, if you have to do that once a week you're looking at 60k a month, and if you have to do it twice a week (which it was previously) you're looking at potentially 120k a month. That's not sustainable for anyone outside the premier league.

Definitely sounds like Stojanovic from the Gazette.

Apparently tested positive last week and has been isolating since, all signs point to him.

His 10 days isolation starts from when he noticed the symptoms not the positive test. I still dont think he will be in the squad tomorrow. It wouldnt be sensible.

The issue is also that the current tests are quite far from 100% accurate. Some positive cases have come back as negative, but then others in the same household testing positive after contacting it from their housemate.

It's our best option at the moment. But it's very far from infallible. And with cases spreading in the North-East we're going to have to be extremely cautious.
