Boro v Barnsley 0-2

Recommended Posts

Not going to lie, I *** hate this formation. It’s a formation that’s when working, great (See Sheffield United and Wolves). However it is absolutely vital you have the players that fit the system, and also a manager that knows how to use it. The wing backs are the most important players as they are most often then not the out ball, width and directness in the team. We’ve got Johnson/Bola and Spence ffs. It’s also important to have CB’s comfortable on the ball, not lumps like Darl Fry.

SIGN SOME WINGERS AND PLAY 433. ITS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE.

Absolute ***. If people seriously want to watch this for a season you are off your bloody heads.  Barnsley get the ball and it’s pass to feet, pass to feet, pass to feet, movement off the ball. We get

Tonight certainly laid bare why Warnock didn't mix things up by using the bench against Watford. If he had the 1-0 scoreline might have been more damaging. We were never going to win the Cup and

Well what are we seeing here? A team that on paper is not better than us, but we are facing the wrong end of a 2-0 score line. We’ve been outplayed in all aspects and it doesn’t look like getting better.

As others have mentioned, this squad is the example of how our club is run with it’s horrendous mindset. In a transfer window, why haven’t we got enough depth in the squad? The difference of Karanka and now was two solid players for each position. We are miles away from that. Yet another transfer window of failing to address our weak areas and we suffer on the pitch.

Also, tonight just highlights what can be achieved with a manager who wants to play good football. Yet here we are, again like with Pulis, sewing our seed with a manager with a “direct” style of play.

Sign some effing wingers.

Roberts, Murphy, and another one as well.

Then add Marucs Maddison just cos.

We DO NOT need more central midfielders or centre backs, of that I am sure.

Cant wait for the second half.

Us? We are playing 532. Coulson playing RWB (why?) and Bola LWB. Dijksteel right side of back 3. Browne up top with Fletcher.

Helps if you play players in their correct positions as well for the balance of the formation

I remember when we actually took the cups seriously. We’ve had some great cup results over the last few years. Great days at Manchester City, Manchester Utd, Liverpool etc. Listening to warnock’s press conference it was pretty clear that he wanted us to lose tonight. He didn’t seem to like the prospect of playing chelsea. A few years back under Karanka we felt we could beat anybody in the cup!
