QPR v Boro 1-1 (Akpom)

Recommended Posts

Hugill isn't there to score an unlikely worldie this time, so there's that.

If we play like we did vs Bournemouth I think we can get something here. The big question still is whether we can start turning our efforts into actual chances & ultimately goals.

We've definitely been playing better than I expected us to, if we carry that forward I think we might be able to get those elusive three points. Doesn't take a genius to figure out that we need to start taking our chances, but I'm sure NW has something in mind to fix it. I'm going to go for an optimistic 2-1.

Ash Fletcher is fit too, thankfully. so full squad tomorrow it sounds like. With Akpom (likely) on the bench, we are starting to sort of see options to change things and not just have a bench full of teenagers.

Score Predictions?

QPR 1 - 2 Boro (don't ask me why - I've no idea)

Lineup?

I get the feeling Jepson will go for continuity, with it being early in the season and the lads putting in a decent performance last time out.

Will Chuba Akpom make his debut, scoring his first of many hat-tricks for the club?

Reckon he'll be on the bench, in case things aren't working out and we need some new (hat) tricks to bamboozle QPR with.

Will Leo appear out of nowhere mid-match, storm onto the pitch and headbutt the ref?

Er...okayyy...you have some interesting dreams.

Who are the better Rangers?

Queen's Park?

US Army?

Hermione (G)Ranger?

None of the above...

On a more serious note, it won't be easy. QPR are a decent team, but I think (and hope) we can just squeak a win from this one.

Early days I know but I am not convinced we are capable of scoring. Whereas QPR do not seem to have the same issues.

However. Boro do tend to suprise.

I think it will be a tight game. We need a win under our belts to spur us on and hopefully we will get one here. Heart says 2-0 Boro.

However. Head says 2 - 1 QPR. (As they are averaging 2 goals a game atm.)

Would like to see Akpom get some game time but think it will depend on whether Fletch is fit. And how the game is going.

We certainly could do with getting as many points as possible under our belts before injuries deplete the squad further.

UTB.

Looking forward to this game, we have a very mixed bag of results at QPR over recent years and as long as we do not have a Dibble day we should be ok

Same team, but as others have mentioned, Chuba for Fletcher, as Fletch picked up a knock ..

We will win this, I reckon

    • Interesting how the gazette are starting to run Pearson articles...
    • Didn't realise they had started to turn the corner, a few years back it didn't matter what form they were in when playing us we would never beat em, this winless run started in 1974 & finished in 1999 We fared better since but I don't like playing Forest at all, it's always one fixture, Leeds been the other when in the same league, that I look for & hope they're out the way early doors
    • Hourihane is very good and proven , LM LW AM . 3 year younger than Grosicki at 29 .
    • I have to stay up to watch my Buccs beat The Saints! .. I can watch the game and still manage 3 hours of sleep before work 😛  Anyone else watching it?
    • So, it's time again .. the time where Assombalonga misses more sitters than on a normal day, cause we are away to Nottingham Forest, his former club. I'm just glad we never play Peterborough! It's this Wednesday at 7 PM weird British time btw, if you are into self masochism and other forms of self inflicted agony. Forest have finally gotten their sh1t together and their last 5 games = W W D D D, a nice unbeaten run after a terrible start to the season. This must be the result of hiring Chris Hughton.  Our vey own Boro is totally hit or miss these days, but we have still managed to also get 9 points of the last 5 games : L W L W W, so we can only hope it's the winning Boro that shows up. This time it could be nice with a win and a clean sheet ... Who am I kidding, we are nailed to go one down within the first 15 minutes ... as usual ..  I actually predict a draw, cause we haven't had one of those in 12 league games!  The bookies have it as a tight game: 2.65 - 3.15 - 2.85  .. These are the decimal odds for home, draw and away, if you wonder. I don't know the weird odds you guys love, but hey .. put your money on the draw.  In the reverse game at The Riverside, we beat Forest 1-0 (Marvinho) in October, when our stadium still was a fortress that wasn't Karankanized, like when we lost 0-1 to Brum last Saturday! So, let's have some quetions!  1: Which team and formation should NW go with? 2: Are you happy with a draw and why/why not? 3: Will Britt miss a penna? 4: Can Chris Hughton make Forest a play off candidate? 5: Can NW make us a play off candidate? 6: Who will be the first to write "this is a game for Patrick Roberts" and who will be the first to be baffled, when Folarin is subbed on in the 88th minute and Roberts aint? 7: Burger King or Mc Donalds?  If you want a look from the other site (pun intended) here you go: https://forums.vitalfootball.co.uk/forums/100-forest.60/ (no Boro thread up, when I was writing this) UTB!
