Had to change my picture after looking through today's match gallery. I knew George would have to go at some point but never did I expect to see such a happy face in a Middlesbrough shirt for Marc Bol

If Akpom wasn't offside for the deflected shot and if he'd have put that one-on-one away from the mistake, that could have been one of the biggest *** house hat-tricks of all time.

We've been crying out for a dynamic formation for years... This reading is more exciting to me than SmogDane's browser history!

Well done Warnock and the team for getting that 3 points at home in the league, no bad performances as such today I thought. Kind of feel like we needed them 3 points as the next two games are against Reading and Bristol city who are both flying.

If we can get that Home form going I dont see a reason why we cant be upper mid table as away form is good, its just home we need to address it hopefully today was the start of that.

That’s 5 points from 12 on offer not exactly upper league stats but it’s early days, as to say and with Roberts incoming, NW back in his seat and a bit of unity I could buy into that..

Decent performance but made hard work of it, bad miss by  Akpom, but did what good strikers do for the 2nd goal got to the the rebound first. Paddy's bang in form and Dijksteel is starting to look  like a good signing, great to see Fry play well, still don't  think we have seen the best of him and hopefully Warnock can get that out of him. Overall steady start to the season and I think and hope we'll keep improving .Another outstanding refereeing performance must have won his ref's badge out of a crisp packet.

    • Ha! Yes - Warnock doesn't strike me as a "Golden Thread" kind of guy. I guess the idea had to be abandoned once he was brought in. But other clubs have made similar philosophies work for them and I'd hope it is resurrected in the near future. Though maybe, as you say, our chairman and board simply aren't smart enough to see the benefits. ¬†
    • Do you have a link? You probably posted it earlier but I'm very lazy¬†
    • I think the fact that Bevington left within months of that woodgate press conference and then woodgate was replaced with Warnock a couple of months after that shows that it was likely a difference in philosophy between the chairman and him. I could be wrong but knowing the personality of Gibson it just seems that that was how it probably went.¬†
    • Ha ha No I was the one who was shaking his head at the comment! Would be good to get your opinions on the station ūüĎćūüĎć. I was the one who was blasting Warnock¬†
    • Either that or they had the idea, but then were completely clueless as to how to implement it properly. Its all very well having an idea, but in order for it to work, you then have to draw up a detailed plan of what needs to happen¬†and who is going to¬†do which tasks. Stuff like costs and timelines also usually figure in there somewhere. We heard a lot about the idea, but very little about its execution. If they wanted Boro to be the English Ajax, maybe sending someone over to talk to the club and look at their methods might have helped?¬†ūü§∑‚Äć‚ôāÔłŹ For the record, I really wish it had worked. I would have loved to see our academy finally fulfilling its intended purpose of turning out youngsters good enough to step into the first team and push the club onwards, instead of paying over the odds for big¬†name players who probably don't really want to be there. ¬†
