Did Warnock say after the game in midweek that he was annoyed at himself for not bringing Roberts on?

Yeah. He felt the game was there for the taking

Here is my conspiracy theory re Roberts. NW doesn't really fancy him as he doesn't fit into his formations, but, our agreement with Man City dictates that if fit he must be in the matchday squad.

We just lack the composure with the final pass, shot, cross and finish. That i what's lacking. Disappointed with Warnocks subs but we've improved massively since last year and unbeaten in 10 now.

OMG this is just painful to watch.

Boro having so much possession, actually playing some nice football...but still can't create any good scoring chances.

So frustrating!

Would help if Warnock wasn’t afraid to put on a creative player.

Certainly not the worst point you'll pick up all season, we made them look bloody ordinary but goodness me, some actual quality in the final third and we could have taken all 3. It was good to see us still go for it at the end and not give them a chance to even get into our half very often in the last 10 minutes or so. I just think ffs, if Roberts comes on even for those last 5-10 minutes, he could make a difference.

i now understand why wing hasn't been anywhere near the first team playing like that, he's so wasteful and does nothing to break up play in the midfield.

Hopefully we can keep this form going until January and stay around the play offs.
Then Gibson must be tempted to invest in the squad and wide areas?

Can't really knock the performance or a point away at Brentford. Only one I'm not sold on is Coulson... think Roberts or even Marv offer more.

If we can become more threatening from counter-attacks and set pieces then we're in for a good season imo.

Here’s my conspiracy. Warnock sets his team up to defend and hope that we fluke something down the other end. Roberts doesn’t fit into that so doesn’t play.

Pulis time and time again got absolutely mullered for exactly what Warnock is doing now.

Well, I predicted another draw and can't say I'm too disappointed. Think it was a fair result, overall.

Just a bit frustrating that we can't actually turn our spells of possession and decent creative play into good goalscoring chances..and that we continue to fluff the very few clear chances we do create.

We’d 100% be in the top 2 if we had some more quality up top. Wide areas and centrally.

clueless in their oppo box aint we. could have really put them to the sword in the last 15 there. they were hanging on, totally out of puff and we were swarming all over them stopping them from getting out of their half. ivan toni was totally isolated and looked like a cf playing for us lol. just one shot on target from brentford and keeper put his cap on it. add goals we walk this league.

To be honest that's another 2 points dropped off we should of beaten these if we put Roberts on went for it. But 10 unbeaten is some achievement

God we are BORING. I will never celebrate a 0-0 draw with that little attacking intent. We used to batter these every time under Karanka, now we're somehow blessed to scrape a point away at the mighty Brentford.

So bored of watching us set up for a draw. Any manager can do that. Stop fannying about and get Roberts and Tav up the pitch in support of 2 strikers. Zzzzzzzz.

    • Tav's injury has probably heightened the need for some creative flair needing to be added to the squad. Am I the only one that is wondering if it's the boots that Tav is wearing that is causing him to slip? The Ground staff didn't have a normal summer to reseed or relay the pitch or whatever they normally do but lets face it the Riverside pitch is still light years ahead of many if not most at this level. I didn't see Spurs or Man City players slipping any more than their lesser opponents in the cup. Come to think of it I didn't notice Blackburn players slipping much either. He seems to be wearing these laceless Mutator Predator boots (happy to be corrected) if my eyesight is not deceiving me. Are they also the same boots that Marcus Browne was wearing? If so that is two players down due to footwear as much as the state of the pitch. About time NW issued them with good old fashioned brown boots as I used to call them with real "men's" studs! Meanwhile we are now scouring for loans and additional wages that the Club can ill afford.
    • The new work permit rules will make it harder to sign European players but it will now be easier to sign players from outside the EU.
    • That's really sad. I think for the forseeable future we can't really buy top-level proven championship players. So we have to rely on international and young unproven players. I was a little bit worried last season when our new signing like Bola, Dijkstell and Browne did not deliever. I'm much more positive about the future this season, I think we have a solid squad now. If we do some smart transfers next season can be great.
    • Coulson has been well and truly frozen out since he gave that penalty away and I have a feeling Spence will be getting the stick after not tracking his man for the Blackburn goal.
