The January Transfer Window 2021 AKA "Didn't we do well"

If we had to sell someone to raise cash, it would be someone that wouldn't leave a huge hole in team and could be replaced by others in squad or available at lower cost. After Rotherham, think we can rule Fry out, Tav also (and injured)... same with Dijksteel..  not many other options...  who are our serious saleable assets?

I have a very real fear that Dijksteel is possibly going. The minor injury is a standard routine for players on the market. I have nothing else to base this on but it does have me slightly concerned 😟

Can’t believe that people on here are condemning a possible signing because of rumours that he dealt drugs.    One thing or squad is crying out for is someone that can distribute well 😳

Fletcher is close to signing a new contract.

Seems to be loads of deals getting done all of a sudden. I notice we are now 15/1 to get promoted. Twice the odds of Blackburn.

If we get the next 2 days right we have a right good chance. Really hope we find a striker that can work off Bolasie, Watmore and Tav.

Southampton are currently short at the back, they have cash and like to play decent football, could be interested in Dijksteel

Although can't believe a lot about what is said. Their manager was asked if they would strengthen and he said he'd love to but they have no money.

Absolutely no chance we should offer a standard run of the mill championship striker anything outside our wage budget. We’ve been lumbered with overpaid players for years now and are finally shedding those wages.

Without Ramirez and Rhodes I don't believe we would of been promoted so that window was best we have had. However If Warnock does what he has done with lots of our other players and gets Bolasie firing even half he was at Crystal Palace this window could match it. The truth about the success of a window is in the eating. If the signings improve the squad that results in more wins its successful window. They is defiently alot more depth to our squad now like today we had 4 decent strikers on the bench. At pre season we only had Fletcher and Britt

Easy to have 4 strikers on the bench by having 0 on the pitch

Might become a redundant ability if they go and outlaw heading the ball. 🙄

On a more serious note, its a sad reflection on the state of the game (or maybe just our recruitment) that none of our current forwards are any good at headers. It is supposed to be a pretty basic part of the game, after all.

Fletcher has scored a few decent ones with his head

To be able to score from headers you first have to have someone able to cross properly instead of hitting the first man or going out for a throw in

Disagree. McNair, Johnson and Tav all very capable of putting a good ball in but we have no one in the squad at all good at attacking headers bar Grant Hall and to some extent Ashley Fletcher, it’s not just the strikers. We could have Kevin De Bruyne putting corners in and we wouldn’t score headers.
