We’ve had Merson, Xavier, Gazza and Woodgate, what’s one more?

This one might be all four rolled into one...The only person who knows is our manager...an if he's happy,I am

Can’t believe that people on here are condemning a possible signing because of rumours that he dealt drugs.    One thing or squad is crying out for is someone that can distribute well 😳

Fletcher is close to signing a new contract.

Why the excitement over Mendez laing? His stats are bang average when he was at the top of his game so I'm not exactly sure what people are expecting when hes done nowt for 6 months.

Grosiki to Mendez laing would be a huge downgrade for me and that's without factoring in his criminal history.

maybe he failed a test and has been suspended by the FA for X months?

Aye that would be ideal circumstances I think, if the club is confident there'll be no reprecussions down the line then we should go for it.

Agree with you, unless Warnock knows what the crime was then we could be setting ourselves up for a disaster down the line once it leaks out to public knowledge.

We never found out what happened with the Darren Randolph thing which still makes me uneasy about what we're willing to accept in our own house, too. His missus at the time was going hell for leather at him publicly about domestic abuse and we managed to sell him and I've seen nothing since about it.

She was alleging we were trying to keep it hush, perhaps because we were in the process of selling him and didn't want to lose out on that £££... or perhaps there wasn't actually anything in it other than a disgruntled person trying to bring someone's career down. Maybe we'll never know but if what she was alleging was true, that would be truly awful on our part and would seriously make me question our judgement in matters like this.

We haven't been linked to Grosiki by anyone reputable, so it's not a downgrade.

The question we need to ask is whether NML is a downgrade from Roberts.

I find it astonishing that anyone would think that Neil Warnock or Steve Gibson, would agree to signing a player, without being totally happy about the reasons for his contract being terminated at Cardiff

no because NML has a history of actually playing under NW.

Giving him a second chance from what though? I certainly wouldn't have given Adam Johnson a second chance 6 months after what he got sacked for. That's the biggest problem in this situation; what did he do to get his contract terminated by Cardiff? They didn't want to lose him as a player by any account and players don't get sacked over nothing so it must have been something relatively significant.

If he had done something as egregious as AJ we'd have found out about it.

And even if he had I believe that once time is served you allow people to re-establish their lives.

(unless sackcloth and ashes is your 'thing')

I'll be honest, as long as it wasn't sexual assault or a hate crime, I'm not really bothered.

It's clearly not serious enough to warrant prison time, so I'm leaning towards it not being something horrific.

Adam Johnson was stitched up by a pair of minxes...and was prob the best winger we've ever had

I think the way we have to look at it is ..  A player the manager has confidence in is an upgrade on one that he doesn't..  up to now, he has got most of that side right, so we should give anyone who turns up a chance before we vote
