The January Transfer Window 2021 AKA "Didn't we do well"

Recommended Posts

Both players which #Boro were hopeful of signing last week WON’T be allowed to leave on loan by their Premier League managers before the end of the transfer window. Big blow with less than a week to go before the deadline.

Warnock said this in his presser. Brilliant

Can’t believe that people on here are condemning a possible signing because of rumours that he dealt drugs.    One thing or squad is crying out for is someone that can distribute well 😳

Fletcher is close to signing a new contract.

I'll have to hear his words myself, but that sounds like it could be taken as they can arrive last minute but not before.

Strange phrasing if he meant they weren't leaving their clubs at all.

So the deals have gone from agreed to drifted to not happening. Nothing new there. At least it's not on deadline day.

To be fair Warnock always stressed they were agreed but were waiting on approval from the manager. We just haven't got the approval 😞

I wonder whether Warnock will take this gamble on the mystery foreign player then... he may well have to, especially with Tav out now.

This is where Roberts needs to stand up and be counted and get his head down and show us what he can do again.

Never mind, just listened to his BBC Tees segment and he's outright said the two PL clubs aren't letting them leave.

Just weird paraphrasing from the press.

    • This can't be correct because Austria have made it 100% They're playing Italy I think.
    • He did indeed; I'm sure recently I watched Foster talking about it again. If anyone hasn't checked out his channel by the way you really should, his youtube content is excellent viewing. Hope the PL let him keep the gopro!
    • That one reminds me of Paul Robinson scoring with a free kick from just outside his own box. Think he beat The Cycling GK Ben Foster with that one.
    • @DurhamRedi get that concern but at moment if you look at the possible first 11. We got Dijksteel, Fry, Bola and Tav all under 25. Add to that Lumley and Paddy who are both 26. That is 6 out my first 11 that are 26 or under.  In terms of 30 or above we only really have Howson and Morsy.  And Hall but I dont think Hall starts if Fry and Paddy are both fit. A bit more experience probably wont do us any harm in terms of grinding out results. Fully respect some posters might not see it that way mind
    • It's more because this is the route I want the club to go down sign players with potential not 30 year olds who are passed their peak. That is the case with Smith and hoillet
