90% of people on here think they know more than a 70 odd year old manager with 40 years experience, thats got 8 promotions under his belt.

Lay off the drink lad. Calm. Its an opinion

Can’t believe that people on here are condemning a possible signing because of rumours that he dealt drugs.    One thing or squad is crying out for is someone that can distribute well 😳

Fletcher is close to signing a new contract.

Well he certainly doesn’t look like he has a clue today. And he apparently thinks Betinelli is a good keeper.

Your one of them mate. Bet youve never kicked a ball before either

I'm well chuffed with the Bolasie signing, can't believe the attitude some people have to him.

He played 25 games at Sporting Lisbon last year and is an exciting player who brings some much needed flair to the side.

Bolasie will be an excellent signing, if we can get him up to speed. Warnock knows him well and he's a flair player, something we used to have in abundance and lack completely

I'm neither excited nor devastated by the news. It's a new option for the wings, we need that.

It's perhaps worth bearing in mind the state Gaston Ramirez's career was in before we brought him in on loan that time. I'm not sure it was quite as bad as Bolasie's is now but he was also sat around not doing much, hadn't done much for Southampton in a while or Hull when he was there... and came in to light up our team.

I'm not expecting that level of turnaround but then I don't think anybody was expecting that with Ramirez too. In both situations, I'm not expecting much at all. I do think there's enough of an unknown to it that it's worth at least giving the lad a chance before throwing him in the bin, though.

We have got to were we are now with marvin Johnson on the left. Do you actually believe that bolasie isnt an improvement on johnson?

You do realise he is a 1 in 6 scorer in his career don’t you? I cannot believe ANY excitement for a guy who couldn’t hack it at Villa - well over 2 years ago. And those who say Warnock knows him? He last managed him in 2014!

ive never read as much unqualified tripe from posters over a signing. Nothing he has done in recent years in the English league suggest he can suddenly be reborn as a player.

And please don’t cite his time in Belgium. Even Nmecha is showing he is a goal machine at that level!

I think that's difficult to say. I hope so, you'd have to think Warnock thinks so too. Time will tell.

    • I can't be bothered to sift through an english version of the rulebook, but I saw a link to the Danish version of the international rules and it specifically says, that the keeper at all times must be fully functional ie. not injured and if he is not then the ref must immediatly stop play. It would be odd if the rules aren't the same since they are international rules by IFAB. So yes, the ref should have stopped play, which they usually do whenever a keeper drops to the floor and looks injured. Had he blown before Rowe took the shot it wouldn't have stood. As it were the refereeing team looked lost and I imagine the VAR room came to the conclusion that the ref didn't stop play before they ball went in and no one can be blamed. It was just justice that it was a Man U player who injured him - but that was impossible for the ref to see in live. In short, the rules say he needs to stop the game when the keeper is injured. It happens all the time. How often do you see play continue with the keeper injured on the floor? That's a bit of an overinterpretation considering keepers already have special attention when it comes to injuries. So they can already do that and get play stopped. I mean you sometimes get keepers that drop to the floor and the ref stops play. But they don't do that because the ref might not be able to blow the whistle in time. Just like you don't see many players feigning head injuries despite meaning the ref has to stop play immediatly in that instance too.
    • I would imagine he'd cost a bomb? Especially after the couple of seasons he had there.
    • I've been saying for ages we should try to sign Woodman, I'm surprised Swansea didn't try to sign him permanently tbh
    • I love Leo and I hope he has a job at Boro for life, if he chooses.
    • Freddie Woodman to be made available by Newcastle. He’d be an upgrade on our current stable of keepers.
