Can’t believe that people on here are condemning a possible signing because of rumours that he dealt drugs.    One thing or squad is crying out for is someone that can distribute well 😳

Fletcher is close to signing a new contract.

Two clubs are in for him. Whether Gibbo will sanction it who knows...

Don't really see the point in sending him out on loan. Do you know if these are perms?

Both champ teams. Think its more of a case if teams can afford to get him permanent, so a loan is only option.

Not sure I see the point in a loan. Wing is one of the lowest paid members of the squad. Still, haven't heard anything yet but will ask tomorrow about this.

Me neither, I guess it could put him in the shop window but with Tav out it only takes a injury/suspension to any of the 3 plodders and we'd probably need him.

Leadbitters long raking passes were effective  under Karanka but I don’t see anybody bar Howson who can create from midfield. Personally I’d like to see Tav a little deeper, more central and running at defences.

True, but even so at times with Leadbitter and Clayton in midfield we still struggled to break teams down in the Championship (especially when the opposition just stuck men behind the ball).

It wasn't until Ramirez came in, that January, that we started to break teams with a bit more ease, even so there were still times we struggled.

All I can think is there is a shortfall in wages for the players we are looking to bring in. So they're trying to free up some elsewhere, regardless of how small.

Thought Coulson may be off if I'm honest. But haven't heard anything there either.

If we signed a centre half , McNair could be that player .

For me McNair has to stay at the back, he helps break the first line of a press by being able to carry out from defence, plus he has an eye for a longer ball.

I still think we could do with a Hourihane/Mowatt esque player to sit alongside one of Howson or Morsy and pick passes from deep.

I wonder if the club were hoping Roberts would go back, but Man City won’t take him

Roberts might get more game time with Fisher at right back...

Remember Roberts primarily plays RW.

If he didn't get game time with an equally defensively responsible Dijksteel at RB, why would Fisher make any difference?
