If you can get Roberts ticking over through the middle we would actually have a really good mobile forward options. I’ve just watched some highlights of Mendez Laing at Cardiff and he just loves to drift in and slot it into the far post. Hopefully, if he joins us it’s a fresh start and he works hard and learns from his mistake that led to his dismissal at Cardiff. Link to post Share on other sites

Doing some running on your own is nothing like training in a professional environment with schedules, coaches, teammates and all the relevant technology etc. He will be woefully short of anything that resembles match fit. Players don't just sit on the coach in the off season these days and still require at least 5 weeks of pre season after having something like 5 weeks off. MD has had about 25 weeks off! Speaking about Ritchie earlier today, Newcastle manager Steve Bruce said: “That one is up in the air. We will see where we are later in the day with that one. He is well thought of but has found himself frustrated not being a regular. He has to understand if it doesn’t happen he gets his head down and works hard until the end of the season .” And ..
