Huddersfield Town V Boro 3-2 ( Johnson, Assombalonga))

There's no doubt we looked shattered. But goodness me, when you're shattered, why do you wait until 5 minutes left to make changes.

Also, I think that challenge on Britt looks like more of a penalty than the one we actually got.

People will talk about Britt's first half misses as the reason for this - but he won a penalty and scored it and we scored 2 goals. That is not the reason we lost today. Down to three major factors for me -

Midfield - non existent after first 20 mins, no control, Huddersfield knocked the ball around us with ease, particularly in the second half.

defence - and keeper included. All over the place and not just for their goals. Unrecognisable from how they've performed the rest of the season, I don't think any of them come out with credit, mcnair at a stretch.

warnock - just crap. Negative selection to begin with, rubbish subs, waiting to long to make any changes. No Roberts. Deciding to stop the attacking subs when we went level showing clear signs of not wanting to go for the win. 0 out of 10 today, didn't do anything right imo.

Not sure why Warnock getting blamed. We had enough chances to put the game to bed in he first half. And the goals we conceded were school stuff.

We defended like under Woodgate horrendous goals to concede. But credit to Huddersfield very clinical first time we lost to Huddersfield in decades

***! We will never get anywhere near the playoffs with this mindset from the manager.

I don't think Roberts would have made the difference on his own between winning and losing this game, or even getting a point. But he should have been on the pitch to give us more energy on the pitch, how we can look so void of energy and still only make 3 out of our potential 5 changes is beyond me, 2 of which came in the 88th and 90th minutes.

He's blamed as didn't put a rocket 🚀 up them at half time. Started second half abject. Didn't make changes quick enough. Accepted the defeat no reaction

Because we're clearly gassed, he has Roberts stapled to the bench and he's sat there twiddling his thumbs till 80+ minutes. Horrible game management today.

    • Marco Silva (Ex Hull, Everton and Benfica) would be my number 1 choice but we all know it won't happen as Gibson won't go foreign management again. Pearson was my choice in the summer but we all knew Warnock was going to be given an extension. I wanted the 3year long term plan last summer as it was ideal opportunity because of the out of contract players leaving. Additionally, we all knew this season was going to be a free pass because of the lack of money throughout the league. We need someone who has experience of the league and is relatively young enough to adapt.  Howe would be excellent, but no way could we attract someone like him. Fans need to be realistic and accept we are not the driving force we once were and the job isn't attractive as it was. I have literally no faith in Gibson making key football decisions for this club anymore, and that's why we keep going round in circles.
    • You'd think if they were going to sack him, they'd have done it by now, but I would be a fan of Chris Wilder, even accounting for this season.
    • 100% agree...  though wouldn't mind swapping Pigbag for Ride of the Valkyries 🙂
    • Seriously, could somebody explain why they'd be happy with David Wagner? Every complaint laid at Warnock's style of football can be laid at Wagner's but worse. Promoted scoring 56 goals and conceding 58, they won the play-offs without one of their players scoring, an own goal and 2 penalty shootouts. The very next season, Warnock got promoted automatically scoring 69 and conceding 39. He kept Huddersfield up in the first season with a fairly meagre 37 points, which I'll accept is still an achievement, but then stank out the league the next season and he was sacked with them on 11 points after 22 games. Did a terrible job at Schalke too. I can understand people who want a new direction and a new manager, though I disagree, but I cannot understand why anyone would want David Wagner.
    • last time I saw his salary figure, he was offering to accept a reduction from £4m a year he was on at Bournemouth..  but do we really want to be spending more on a manager than half a dozen players. I know you have to pay for quality, but like the players, there should be a figure that we won't go over..  no point in a Prem manager if it means Div 1 squad (wages wise)
