Jolly Boys Outing

Recommended Posts

Inspired by the transfer window thread and Boro’s history of signing ex players I was wondering how many have we resigned in the Gibson era:

Pallister

Cooper

Arca*

Hoyte*

Graham

Juninho

*technically released and resigned.

who else is there. Do we have a starting 11?

off the field we have Woody, Agnew and Leo.

also why is this?

Is it common place in the game?

is boro particularly unattractive?

Meijas?

Why do I always think of Ricky Tomlinson when I see his name?

Is Patrick Bamford allowed in the team? I know the first time was a loan

Wish we had him now!

Stuart Parnaby.

I think Johnson resigned after his contract had already run out?

Bamforď? Or does he not count with the first one being a loan.

Completely forgot about Parnaby having a second spell with us.

I would say Johnson

loads are interesting as that opens the door to Roberts and Fernando Amorebieta. I think they count.

Andrew Davies on loan

Hignett I think had a couple of spells as coach.

Fleming as coach as well

If we're including loans, did Kalas have two loans with us (or was it the other defender we had on loan around the same time)?

Disappointed with the content of this post. Thought we were off to York Races followed by seeing Twin Cheeks.

    • Ah yes, forgot about Browne, he’s looked very technically sound when I’ve seen him and has a lovely touch. Still think there is a good player in there somewhere, just been so unfortunate with his injuries.
    • Barnsley beating Stoke, they're now 7th and 1 point off Bournemouth. Also 3 points behind Reading with a game in hand on them. I think they're top 3 in form since their manager took over.
    • Come on Cardiff don't lose please
    • Thats more or less how I remember it. Southgate, although being a rookie and his inexperience being at least partly to blame, was also something of a sacrificial lamb. The fall guy for the club's financial restructuring.  I think he was given a rather thankless task (like a couple of more recent ones), but I still believe he was showing promise as a Championship level manager. Anyway...LOTS of water under the bridge since then...
    • I look at what Ian Evatt did at Barrow and how he got some very limited players playing some incredible technical football, and wonder if it is more a mental attitude of the players being asked to play that way alongside the tactical setup and coaching. Or whether you have to be down right talented to play that way, personally I think it is a mix of both. I think looking at our contracted players, I'd say the vast majority of them can play that way, then you get into the realms of looking at the loanees that will need replacing this summer.
