Aneke - Unlikely, not fit enough often enough Mullin - Maybe but not top of the list at the moment Ikpeazu - Wycombe don't need to sell and we don't want to pay too much Lafferty - He's rubbish and everyone knows it so no-go Gregory - Not on our list Vokes - Probably not on our list, at least for now Taylor - Fee and wages too expensive, questions over attitude, unlikely Windass - Would like but would demand £2m we don't want to pay and wants to stay at Wednesday Kayode - Too young, too expensive Smith - We want but we'll wait until valuations between clubs narrow, sounds like we're confident we'd get him if things change Diedhiou - Too expensive, nothing doing until he stops being daft about his wages Wyke - Warnock's had a look and isn't interested Delap - Possible target in the late window but will have plenty of clubs after him Kaba - Watched by Jepson, we don't want him So Smith is naturally the most likely on that list with a couple of others we'd like but won't pay daft money for. Could even be part of the reason the paper has found themselves in a position to actually confirm or deny the position of the club on so many players at once.
LBP 3,012
"but Warnock is targeting experienced strikers capable of leading the club back to the Premier League this summer." The linked list suggests otherwise...Akpom's probably a better player than most of the strikers in that article and I'd rather us just give Coburn more games than spend money on mediocre strikers like Michael Smith

Which would be a real issue if it weren't for the fact Boro are about mid-table quality in every position...not just strikers.
CWC 383
There’s definitely business to be done in the free-agent market. Quite a few on that list I like the look of. 1

Quite a few on that list I like the look of. Quite a few good names on paper...but the list thins down an awful lot when you consider many of them are 30+ and/or will have fairly hefty wage demands. Berardi, Bamba, Besic, Lansbury, Wilshere, Mpanzu, Hoilett and Ameobi jump out at me. I know Warnock said he wanted to make 8 or 9 signings, but given the on-again, off-again Bolasie saga, I think we're going to struggle to make half that. We should have enough experience in the squad to avoid relegation especially when tied in with some Prem loans, and the next season may be completely different especially with Warnock leaving. Let’s be honest the odds of gaining promotion next season are pretty slim
