If we can’t afford Bolasie then how can they? Aren’t they transfer embargoed for breaking ffp?
DurhamRed 2,043
I must say much rather us sign promoising South American youngsters than 30 year old wingers who are past their peak and have no expectation to make it back at the high level

Doubt either of the players would agree to 1 year deal {the maximum reading can offer}, and don't think they could otter anything significantly greater than us on wages. So they bloody well should be! With some of the crap they've overspent on, that's arguably a good thing for them.

No reason why they couldn't offer more than us especially if we are working to a set maximum wage. Doesn't mean that they are going to of course.

Dan_Boro_Till_I_Die 1,179
However, Boro remain increasingly confident of doing a deal and securing a work permit. Argentina's Primera Divisíon is in Band 3 and with Banfield reaching the final of the Copa Diego Armando Maradona (a contingency competition played in Argentina due to the disruption of league competition thanks to Covid), and Payero playing regularly, that makes the chances of him meeting the points threshold for a work permit highly likely. Yes but the wage rules might not be as strict as you believe them to be, and our own set max wage, or the wage we are willing to offer them, might not be that high. So, again, there is no reason that they couldn't potentially offer more than us.
