Brunners 7,982
The Muniz link seems unlikely, the Gazette have noted down the terms he's being offered by Al Nasr Quote According to the same publication, Al Nasr are offering Muniz a three-year deal worth $4.5m-a-year tax-free. The deal is also said to include a bonus of $5,000 for each goal contribution, as well as a house and car. With aspirations to eventually play in Europe, the contract is also said to include a €15m release clause, making a switch possible if he proves good enough. No way he turns that down! DurhamRed 2,047
I think longterm if he thinks he is good enough muniz will make more money for his former club and himself by being at boro. If he sets the league on fire like Watkins or Pukki he'll be getting a epic contract next summer more than he will get playing well in UAE. As clubs will be still very unsure of the standard of that league thus be reluctant to make significant offers.

Obviously really good terms but if that's USD, that's a basic salary of over £60k a week. If he goes there on that then he's surely not gonna drop his wage demands even if someone matches the release clause. Is someone really gonna splash that much on a player based on whatever they're doing in UAE? Have we seen that kind of move before? Like if that's where he wants to be then fair enough. I just don't see how it's a better stepping stone to a good European side.

While true, you could go to UAE for a couple years, bank $9m & however much you make in goals, then lower your wage demands again to get into a European team.
TLF10 4,493
Reading just sold Olise to Palace for £8m. Might explain their moves for Holliet and Bolasie

He’s been with Reading through youth stages, so presumably has signed a new extended contract with Reading at some point. Maybe refused to sign unless he got a release clause, so Club would have had little choice.

DanFromDownSouth 1,706
Reading are one of those under embargo too, could be a case of sell one to lift the embargo. Also think they are in a bit of a financial hole. I can't remember if it was for the 19/20 season or the season just gone, but they had a wage to turnover of nearly 2:1. Seems to me a player holds all the aces in that kind of case - his only risk is an injury, but with the wages that he would have been on in the youth system, that wouldn’t have been a great loss.
