Not totally convinced we will see the best of Payero for a good few months into the season. He will automatically be behind due to the Olympics and possibly a delay with the deal being finalised. He will need to settle in over here and get used to the new surroundings and gel with his teammates. By then, the bad weather could be here. So if he’s not keen on the weather, that might not help also. All in all it could be spring by the time we see the best of him. If he gets in the team quickly, it’s because either he’s very good or we are doing very bad. 😁

He'll be written off by Jan

Of course. He is missing out on playing against B.A,  Tavistock and Saltash and is only playing against international players. He's bound to be behind🙃

He also has to adapt from South American style football to .. whatever it is we play. It's not gonna be easy!

It was more the fact that that’s he’s not training with the rest of the Boro squad, settling into his new surroundings, getting used to his team mates, how they play etc and learning the Warnock way. I’m pretty sure he won’t have played much hoofball in his fledgling career and its a lot to take in 😁😁. Seriously tho, he will pretty much miss all of pre season, which isn’t exactly ideal. Plus, he will probs be off on holiday after the tournament or at least need a bit of time to rest a bit. Possibly go home for a week or two whilst everything is finalised. He might not even arrive till the season is up and running, so I would be very surprised if he lined up for our first proper game of the season. Plus, he’s gonna be coming to a completely new country under what are strange times right now, with COVID and everything, which could make it more difficult to settle. A lot of players from abroad, particularly young players, can take time to settle in, get to know their team mates and pick up the rhythm and pace of English football. Sometimes a season or more, if ever. Ive no doubt he’s as fit as a butchers dog, so it wasn’t his actual fitness I was thinking of when making the comment. Plus, whoever he is playing with (or watching from the bench) at the moment, It’s not the boro players. He can be playing alongside Messi but that’s not gonna help him integrate into the Boro squad. So, if we take away the sarcasm and the upside down head, you were actually correct, he is bound to behind 😁

Or, as a young, top star Argentinian Professional footballer, he could come in and pick the pace up by October and be the difference between us finishing mid table and getting promoted. Did you see what I did there?!

You have nothing good to say about the Boro, or England.

So, we’re 16-1 joint sixth favourites for the Championship. That’s shorter than I thought we would be actually. Joint 6th favourites puts us bang in the frame for the play offs, if the bookies are right 😁

Payero might take a while to get used to the English game, he might not settle here, he might hate England or he might be rubbish. But for someone that has criticised the club a lot on here in the last few years I'm glad we are thinking outside the box a bit.
