NW has plugged basically all the leaks, it's proving very difficult to hear about anything before it's publicly known right now.

Yeah I have a friend who usually gets good information and he's had absolutely nothing, it'll be refreshing if it means we get a few more in and it's quite nice to get the odd surprise

Are the club trying to release fake news to weed out the leaks or something? All ITKs/people with sources are struggling big time this year

I think I've said this before, but it is possible to be ITK and still miss a lot of stuff (I know that's not what you're saying here, so this isn't a dig at you, or anyone really).

A friend of a friend works in a very good position at Preston North End. They have signed players that he has known about from the very early stages, but they have also signed players that he has only known about a couple of hours in advance.

He also sometimes gets the wrong end of the stick on stuff he gets told - he was convinced PNE were going to sign Grant Leadbitter from us a few years ago, and as far as I know they didn't even bid for him.

So if even people in high ranking roles are getting things wrong, it's no surprise that other sources are occasionally getting bad info!

Don't think alot of people realise how quick things change too. Players become available out of the blue and you have to react quick. No chance you get the time to find those out.

It depends on how much money that the wealthy owners of Wrexham offered him.

Doubt they could blow us out the water with an offer. They're rich... but they're not football rich.

For some perspective, Ryan Reynolds is reportedly worth ~$150m. Kane alone will probably go for more than that this Summer.

Well we either didnt try for him or there must be some reason such as money for him to drop down the leagues!

We bandy the word serious around as if it means something. Every bid for a player is a bid that you want to win based upon the value that the club puts on a player, otherwise why offer a deal at all. If someone else offers more than the value assigned by the club (player worth or budget) then the other club will win the deal, it's as simple as that and nothing to do with how serious the offered deal is.

Yeah, being one of the biggest names in Hollywood helps too, especially when you have the power to get your dream film made by leaking the test footage onto the internet and completely getting away with it because, well, you're Ryan Reynolds.

And of course, because of who they are, there's the FFP boost of the "Welcome to Wrexham" series, the TikTok deal, the number of shirts they'll sell worldwide, etc. And of course Ifor William's sponsorship to take into account.

Sammy Ameobi's injury sounds potentially concerning. The Evening Gazette slipped this at the bottom of an otherwise positive article on Howson and Bola edging closer to fitness. Hopefully specialists being involved isn't an indication of it being a bad injury:

Asked about Sammy Ameobi, there was still no update on the knee scans recently done to determine the extent of his injury.

Boro physios were due to speak to specialists yesterday.

yeah I think that's more just because he's been quarantining so it's been difficult even getting the scans done, fingers crossed no cause for concern yet!
