Frankly the best you can say about Akpom is he is just another body we have currently. If we get firm interest I would get rid, he is hardly irreplaceable.

He certainly isn't but numbers wise, he still needs replacing and as shown in the previous post it's still 5 goals from somewhere

Could you just stop it for once, please?

Wing is not going to feature heavily in Warnock's plans this season, and he wants to play regularly. He's signed an extension to his contract with the aim of going out on loan and hopefully doing well enough to earn a first team spot next season. It's not that difficult to understand.

I believe Stewy Downing went out on loan to Sunderland the same way and did well and was brought back

To be fair sending Bausor half way around the world on what is probably a fruitless effort is actually an improvement on previous windows where we've sat around for months waiting for Premier League players to give us the pleasure of their presence on loan.

I don't think it is a fruitless effort...a lot of work must go into a foreign player signing

I think you are correct - there is a ridiculous amount of work that goes into signing overseas players - particularly from South America.  Think its all to do with how they are owned etc.  I think its fair to say Payero deal is all but done but has still taken a couple of weeks to try and negotiate final details

Isn't Bausor in Brazil? How well do parmos travel?

I hope he hasn't taken him a Jeff The Chef one.

C'mon the last thing an athlete needs is a kin Parmo no matter who makes it...look what they did to Alves when he found em

Paterson is an option attacking wise for us too, I know he hasn't massively impressed but he has had an injury and generally has grabbed goals and assists from midfield.

Last season he only got 3 goals 2 assists in 20 games but previously

19/20 7 goals, 4 assists

18/19 5 goals, 4 assists

17/18 5 goals, 8 assists

On a free, I'd take him

Well the geotag says Rio de Janeiro… Bausor is in South America… it can only mean it’s a done deal 🤷‍♂️

I don't think Bausor is actually in South America. The Muniz talks have been taking place in Lisbon. Muniz isn't actually there, his representatives are.

If Muniz does fall through we really do need to get some players in sharpish

We've lost 30 goals from the players who've left, including 6 of our 8 top scorers (assuming Akpom leaves) and so far have brought in 15 goals with Ikpeazu, Crooks and Ameobi

This for a side that's already notoriously low scoring and lacking in creativity

What worries me is the absence of links to wingers and attacking midfielders other than Lazaro and a few washed up has beens

11 days till Fulham...

I count 27 goals and 17 assists (including Akpom)

so if we include Payero as part of the new signings (excluding Pelts)

last season the 4 players in (compared to 6 out) contributed 18 goals and 18 assists, so as long as the 2 additional forwards (ST and Winger) contributed more than 9 goals in their respective teams, we're better placed - and are spending considerably less

The Gazette make a good point today. If our most effective systems is wing back orientated, why haven’t we been recruiting specialist wing backs and why is Djed Spence available for transfer?

I’m not his biggest fan by a long stretch but RWB suits his attributes down to the ground.

Begs the question are we putting up with a wing back solution until we recruit players more suited to a 433?

Seems like we’re no where near ready for next season.

I would imagine we are going to play a 4-3-3. We have so many midfielders it wouldn’t really make sense to go 5 at the back in my opinion

Much like last season I think it'll depend on what the opposition play. I think you'll see the 5 when he wants to match opponents or the opponents play a lot up top. When vs 1 up top it'll be a 433 I think. NW has said repeatedly he doesn't like the 3 CBs vs 1 ST so think we'll see the 433 quite a bit.

Can’t agree more thought dijksteel best football was always at RCB or RB he was awful yesterday. Surely we are best 4141 with an anchor (morsey) and then two drivers tav and Payero and then two proper wingers.
