Once again Steve Gibson is showing why he's the best in the business, takes a lot of stick for putting the brakes on things but there's always along term plan with him

is Leo our lead player negotiator?

guessing Delap is the young city player? would allow Akpom to leave

Don’t know the player apart from he’s been to rockcliffe. Leo has had a big hand in payero and the Brazilian

I know there is a succession plan but it’s complicated. NW will leave regardless- he wants to go out on a high. Haven’t heard about DofF but was told who the preferred choice is for first team coach.

Who’s that then??

Buzzing with the latest developments and rumours. All this excitement though makes me get ahead of myself! Will hurt if this all comes crashing down.

I am confident we can get these lads signed.

Not sure if anyone else has this thought..

It really feels like we have a twin track plan at the moment.

So Warnock is buying and dealing for now.

But Boro are keeping things long term - Warnock said Wing has extended for a year, Coulson going on loan but not sold. And some young exciting players being brought in.

I do wonder whether they know who is replacing Neil next season and are planning ahead.

Maybe ready too much into things.

Should just have replaced him this summer in that case.  We're still buying players who presumably aren't really for the future or a future manager let's say.  It's still wasting money, even if it's less than we have wasted in the past.

Doriva's managerial career is a bit scary

Managerial career[edit]

After retiring in 2009, Doriva was hired by Ituano's president and former teammate Juninho Paulista; initially a manager of the youth categories, he subsequently became an assistant manager and, in 2014, was appointed as coach.[13] He led Ituano to a Cinderella run in the Campeonato Paulista, winning the title on penalty kicks over Santos.[14]

Doriva was appointed Atlético Paranaense manager on 16 June 2014,[15] but failed to impress, being sacked only two months later.[16]

On 14 December 2014, Doriva was appointed as manager of Vasco.[17] The following 4 August, after another state league title, he was named at the helm of Ponte Preta;[18] on 7 October, however, he rescinded with the latter and moved to São Paulo.[19] He lasted only a month with the team from the state capital, winning two and losing two league games, and being eliminated 3–1 on aggregate from the Copa do Brasil by rivals Santos.[20]

Bahia signed Doriva for the year 2016.[21] Despite a 69% winning rate with the Série B club, he was dismissed on 19 June after a first defeat of the season against Londrina.[22] He then had two months in charge of Santa Cruz in the same season, resigning on 20 October as their relegation looked imminent.[23]

In 2017, Doriva had ten games in charge of Atlético Goianiense before losing his job on 21 July; he recorded only one win and two draws.[24] He was then appointed as Novorizontino's manager for the 2018 Campeonato Paulista.[25] His team reached the quarter-finals before an 8–0 aggregate loss to Palmeiras.[26]

In June 2018, Doriva was appointed coach of CRB.[27] He left the club in September, to be replaced by Roberto Fernandes.[28]

Doriva was hired by Criciúma of the Campeonato Catarinense at the start of 2019, and was fired on 5 March when the team were in 6th place.[29] Two weeks later, he was appointed at São Bento, who were preparing for a season in the national second division.[30] He was dismissed on 29 August, having won 5 of 19 games in the first half of the campaign.[31]

On 23 May 2021, it was announced that Sylvinho would be Corinthians' new manager and Doriva would be his assistant.[32][33]
