Some blasts from the past in there! Both in player names and usernames.

This thread and the Vítor talk has really got me feeling nostalgic. Does anyone remember ‘theinsider’ that was evidently one of the lads from the Gazette?

Was one of those at the match when Houseman played at Ayresome Park...  lovely player but I don't think he would have fared well against some of the defenders in the League at that time..  very similar to Juninho in build

This is a fast moving situation is a bidding war atleast if we fail Fulham will be squeezed for all their worth for every last penny. Fulham will be stuffed if they aren't promoted this year

Middlesbrough wants to buy 50% of the economic rights, while Fulham, who initially sought a loan with a purchase obligation, was "forced" to change his strategy and is now seeking to acquire 80% of the rights. Negotiations follow

So that basically says we're offering a 50% sell on fee, while Fulham are "only" offering 20% so I guess it depends on if they want all the money now, or some money now and potentially a lot more money later.

It'll be 50% of any profit we make on him, I'd imagine, rather than 50% of the transfer fee

I'm not sure either way. Most the time I'd agree but it's the way that the journalists are describing it that makes me think it could be otherwise.

Could be lost in translation of course but a deal for '50% of his economic rights' makes it sound like Flamengo keep 50% of his actual value, so not based on profit as you'd usually expect.
