If anyone does want a bit of a happy cry, here's Ali's dedication video again. I only watched it a couple of weeks ago again for the first time in a while, reminder of an amazing bloke:

Takes me back

Gaston was a joy to watch that game as well

As i said a similar prospect to payero or Muniz from the UK would be completely out of our price range

Who would be an equivalent player to him over here though?  He's barely played much first team football for anyone hasn't he?

he would be the equivelent of a leading England u21 striker

say Tammy Abrahams during his villa loan- they offered 18m and it was rejected

I mean we only spent £6m on Bamford, and whatever it was that we paid for Fletcher.  £9m on Rhodes who had scored plenty.  £9m on Braithwaite who was a current international.  We're talking about £7.5m +50% sell on fee and somewhere near £20k per week.  Surely that would be enough to get some talent from here, which I think is what DZ is saying.  They don't need to be 20 years old and only played 20 games or whatever.

Is he a Brazil U21 international?  I just thought he'd played a handful of senior games so far and was regarded as a prospect.  That would change things I suppose.

Brewster is probably comparable ? Pretty prolific for the youth teams and had a decent loan at Swansea, still only played roughly 20 games before being bought for 23.5m ?

I don't think Abraham is the equivalent.

He'd played 3 full seasons at Championship clubs by that point.

127 games, 60 goals.

Muniz has played 38 games and scored 11 goals in a different league.

Brewster is probably a good comparison, yeah.

Also shows the potential risks.

He cost a fortune and has not delivered at all for Sheffield United, though it was a tougher league and in a struggling side.

Can see him having a really good season though, Sheff United's strikers are so good for this league

Got to love some fan comments....

Everton fan saying shame they don't have the money to buy spence and then loan him back to us for the season.  I'm not sure our Neil would play him very often now would he!

you're right , forgot about his Swansea loan, I think the Brewster example above is closer
