Does it meet the "shocking" criteria?

For a Championship club of Boro's stature ie. not the wealthiest or recently relegated, then yes I'd say it would be a bit shocking.

I'd hazard a guess that 95% of our support have never heard of him, which is why i don't think it fits the "shocked" criteria.

I'm struggling to think of someone who would even be possible for us to get that would be 'shocking', but then I guess that's why it would be shocking. I think signing a Argentina U23 international would be relatively shocking, most people were shocked when Payero was initially mentioned.

Would you not describe Payero as a shock? Think you'd struggle to find any Boro fan who wasn't shocked when it first broke.
