If he’s coming In September I presume he will be involved in picking the next manager since he would be sporting director

You'd think so, well until Gibbo overrules him that is 😂

Just listening to an interview of his where he goes out of his way to say it makes his job easier that he loves the way Norwich and Farke play.

Perhaps he’s been told that’s the way we want to move towards, can’t imagine he’d be massively excited about a project consisting of our recent style of football.

The style in which we play is up to him, he'll hire the manager and he'll be signing the players (or directly overseeing those who do). As head of recruitment at Norwich obviously he had less control, if we're doing it properly the entire team and management should be his vision.

Interesting that this was denied from Carrow Road back in June when first mooted in the Sun on Sunday.

Webber apparently is leaving at the end of next season which makes it even more surprising as if true you would think he would have moved up to replace Webber. It will be very interesting to see how this pans out!

I think I posted the same video when we were linked to him earlier this year. He sounds like just what we need

Norwich local rag reporting on it now. Up the Boro.

Great appointment...but he isn't an ex-Boro player - why all the posts about the Director being an ex-Boro player.

@p_mards - I guess this adds weight to what we were both saying the other day too. Do you think this is a step forward to being a more "modern day" football club?

I do feel its overstated about how awful our play is, its direct and agricultural somewhat but much of that is to do with the squad we had and pragmatically to survive Warnock was a good choice.

As Woodgate proved, just saying youre going to play a certain way doesnt work, you have to point the whole club in that direction first, change the coaching and then add to it players who fit the systems. Coming in for September gives Scott a chance to settle in, make plans and find the right manager once Warnock leaves and we still have a small squad which can be improved and added to, with some existing good players complemented by new players to fit into a new style.

Interesting quote in the local paper article about them not having much of a say last time they got promoted. So whilst they have the model in place, perhaps Delia acts pretty much as folk say Gibson does. Perhaps with then selling their top players he doesn't see his ability to go after better players. Maybe we are seen as a bigger long term option.

Lots of guessing from my part.
