his goal to 90 min ratio was still the 2nd best in portugal, 0.48 goals every 90 minutes is good enough, all beit in limited game time

Yeah it was one goal every 187.5 mins but it's the limited game time that bothers me a bit.  It feels like he's basically coming on often as a sub for good teams, grabbing a goal sometimes, but he isn't being selected to play much from the start for some reason, even when he went out on loan.  So his goals per minute record looks good but he still can't get into the starting line-ups.

We adore Tav .. but he wouldn't be a starter for a club like Westham ...

We aren't talking about teams like West Ham though, are we?  And certainly not a league like the Premier League.

On the subject or Sporar its maybe worth thinking back to Pukki's time at another Club who also play in green and white shirts.

"Pukki's first season at Celtic was considered something of a disappointment as he struggled with form and failed to fill the void left by Gary Hooper who had left at the start of the season. Pukki himself later acknowledged the lack of impact he had made, admitting he initially felt playing in Scotland would be "easier" than in Germany. He found the speed and physical nature of the game in Scotland difficult to adjust to, and stated "Scottish football is not easy."

After that disastrous spell in Scotland with Celtic fans writing him off he has done OK since. There have been more than few times where Boro fans have opined why can't we uncover these hidden gems? Sporar does seem to have a similar flawed so affordable history.

You could say the same about Akpom. Maybe this season, in front of a crowd, if we keep him, he may realise his potential.

Just to go back to some comments a few pages back, is it common knowledge that we’ve had an offer on the table for Bolasie?

I kind of assumed we’d moved on to other targets with a view to possibly returning to him with an offer at a later date if nothing else materialised.

It’s said we offered him a contract but it was below his demands so both parties agreed to see how the summer goes. It’s a gamble from him because there doesn’t seem to be a fight for his signature and the longer it goes on the more out of fitness he gets.

Just in case anyone is not aware, Sporar and Bolasie were teammates at Sporting

It's obvious BORO are now a buy and sell club , Gibson can't fund everything , Fry and Tavernier gone next season unless promotion which is a long shot.

Only way Fry leaves is if we force him out of the club like we did Gibbo. I could see us cashing in on Tav next season if we don't go up, though.
