Dan's Summer Transfer Thread. Aka: " Post Mortem Time""

Recommended Posts

looked on transfermarkt thingy, reims have promoted x2 right wingers from their academy. on the other hand they have 3-4 left wingers all valued quite high. they may have the need for a right winger. or they may have left wingers who are actually comfortable on both wings. either way they seem to have millions of wingers in their first team squad.

the left winger Zeneli was signed in 2019 from Heerenveen for 3.6m. think we may well have lost our guy then.

Sporar is awaiting permission to travel to England and initial the Middlesbrough loan agreement. The deal is closed and pleases all parties, and the impasse is now not financial but fiscal, since, according to what O JOGO found, the English will only pay half of the player's salary, who earns €2 million in the lions.

The player's difficulty is the work permit for England, this by the tax regime of a non-Portuguese who will remain connected to the Leo club, but playing in the Championship. The fact that Sporar does not have a Portuguese passport is, according to "TeessideLive", delaying the outcome of the process, which will not be threatened. The tax residency and the way in which the player will make the discounts hold up the process, as Sporting continues to hold the striker's rights. The latter has already passed the medical exams, which led Boro coach Neil Warnock to give the reinforcement as closed last Friday.

Middlesbrough, from the English II league, will have a mandatory purchase clause of 8.5 M€ for objectives that include the promotion.

I think their transfer strategy is to hoard up and coming players and sell them for profit. A bit like Brentford

I did wonder how hard we really pushed for Hedges. Made a lot of sense to me. Seems like one who wouldn't break the bank and Warnock would be happy with too. Unless Scotland counts as foreign to old Neil...?

Other name that went cold was Boupendza. Whether there was ever much in that, who knows?

Dompe would be class but don't see that happening given how hard it's been attract other arguably lesser players.

So the hold up is about who makes up the difference in tax between the Portuguese and UK rate? Clearly not the player so them or us.

Wish Burnley as a club would just fade away into nothing. £20m or jog on

There was a Burnley fan in my Uni halls during our promotion season and he was so arrogant about them. I can’t stand Burnley and the style of football they play. Okay we don’t play the most beautiful football under Warnock, but Burnley is next level boring. Wish they’d just knock around in League 1 and not bother anyone

For some reason Portuguese tax and customs have suddenly turned very awkward. We are waiting for a small delivery from one of our suppliers in Pourtugal which has been 'confiscated' awaiting further information. What that information is god only knows, it changes by the day it seems.

I have an image of Sporar sat in a warehouse in Lisbon next to our 12 packages. Luckily our packages aren't perishable, not sure about Sporar though.

The bottom 3 on Saturday was Burnley, Norwich, Newcastle. That really is the dream
