Robbie Brady was always out of reach financially for us imo. Other players we could target in short term for our defence and might fit in to budget are:

1. Elmohamady: 34yrs of age who can play RB or RW

2. Andre Wisdom: 28yrs old who can play CB and RB

3. Neil Taylor: 32 yr old left back

Other than that I cannot think of many tbf.

I'd take Taylor and Elmo. I don't think wisdom is much better than howson or mcnair as a cb or rb so wouldn't have him.

I think if any of them were realistic possibilities then they would already be here

Neil Warnock immediately ruled it out in his press conference today, another great scoop from Football League World.

Far too early but just been looking at left backs who could be available in Jan due to contracts expiring in summer or needing a loan for some game time.

Brown of Cardiff, Bidwell of Swansea and Pederson of Birmingham all out of contract.

Jamal Lewis at Newcastle not getting any games so he could possibly be available on loan

I am not keen on Brown. He a CB who can do a job at LB. I would rather have a LB than can do a job at CB.

Sam McQueen has just returned from a long injury, I wonder if he’d be up for a loan move.

Would imagine he wants to stay as far away from Middlesbrough as possible!

wouldn't object to seeing Kokolo get a few minute like Coburn if the chance arises..  seems to be working for Josh and it will let them know if he needs a loan or can step in. Ideal opportunity for Sol to take young defenders under his wing if he is serious about coaching, you can't waste that sort of experience
