Really?

I'm surprised, he started like a house on fire.

5 goals in 19 games as a midfielder is excellent, even if they were all in the first 10 games.

But I suppose starts don't tell the full story.

I think he was good at set pieces, but lazy in overall play. He was getting slated by swansea fans on twitter all the time

Offer has been accepted bauser has had his critics but he has pulled masterstrokes on both of these.  Now over to you Leo!  Payero small issues look sorted should be an announcement tomorrow or f

Gibson doing a Gibson. Having another punt, pushing for Bolasie, this Argentinian and money available for a couple more. (Not a lot though) Spence going for £5m

Just been reading the evening gazette and shocked at how poor and irreverent the paper has digressed..

It's down to being part of Reach. Wouldn't be surprised if Dom Shaw moved somewhere else before long.

wonder if this could mess up things with siliki

I remember someone mentioning they seem to have a production line of young midfielders so hopefully they have another one ready to take his place and they won't need to rely on Siliki.

Just seen that Hourihane is only Sheffield United's 2nd signing of the summer.

He's a quality signing to be fair, but it does show how daft some people are being when they're getting upset at us "only" making 10 as it stands.

Has anyone complained about the number of signings? Quality is the issue most people are taking with our summer business so far, if anything. Plus age/potentially injury prone players/little resale value/not regulars in their teams last season etc.

My predictions after a chat today 3 hopefully 4 in tomorrow 2 out.

It wouldn’t be a transfer window without an ITK cryptic clue the night before the window shuts!

Not so much on here, but I have seen many complaints on Twitter and Facebook.

But even on here you only have to go back to the start of this thread to see people saying that 6 signings would probably be too much to expect.

Two in tomorrow I reckon. Sporar and Siliki. Wood will go out on loan, maybe a couple of other fringe players.

We'll sign Joe Bennett in the next few weeks if he proves his fitness.

I reckon it's too late in the day for us to move Morsy on, we're just dangling the bait to see if any clubs bite. He'll just have a few months on the bench and then go somewhere on loan in Jan.

Can't see Spence going, the interest doesn't seem concrete enough.

Do we all remember the Deadline Day protocol?

1. You begin your day calm

2. Optimism peaks after early rumours

3. A silence of news lasts hours causing you to have doubts

4. The deadline has come and gone. “Do we have any deal sheets in?!”

5. Chaos and Uproar breaks out on OneBoro at a disastrous failure once again. The season is over. BAUSOR OUT!

Repeat in January etc etc.

Oh God. It's too early in the day to be bringing up deal sheets.

Newyiddon has predicted 8 incomings tomorrow, including 3 left backs, Morsy being swapped permantly and us only receiving Burke on loan! Not sure what happened there 🤣

Genuinely love his optimism

    • Probably setting myself up for some disagreement but I have been surprised that the twin transfer policy approach seems to have worked to a greater extent than I thought, Sporar and Payero are both bedding in nicely and seem to be able to work well with Crooks and Uche whilst Bamba and Peltier have earned their corn. If Lea-Siliki comes good and they ever get to the bottom of Ameobi's problem, then I would say that the window could be called successful when compared to others of late. Lumley has his moments but is a massive upgrade on Bettinelli and IF the loan lads come back as more experience and rounded players, I would say progress has been made, even it only means they have impressed elsewhere enough to get decent fees if we can't hang on to them. Coburn and Jones seem to be being integrated into the squad and although others are knocking at the door, it is up to them to break it down by impressing Scott enough to fast track them as he will be the one with the power to decide their future. Hopefully we can keep up the run next week and Gorgeous George takes a day off (for a change) as Clayton seems to have been shown the cold shoulder and shouldn't come back to haunt us in the same way. With any luck might have a couple back after that have to say in closing that although we should have won the last three games, it is really good that we have begun to win games against teams we should win games against, instead of being "Typical Boro"
    • Play-off spots looking interesting now. Not getting carried away, but with player to return from injury we should be able to hang thereabouts.
    • First game I have been able to see live this season and some very promising signs mixed in with a dreadful final ball at times. Great interaction between Sporar and Sol at the end seemed to suggest a good spirit in the camp as well which is good to see.    We all know it’s the hope that kills you but we look like we are a team who can only get better . Today should have been 5 at least and the concern is that we aren’t clinical but in Sporar we have a man who could get 20 this season once he gets the right pass my glass is half full again .....
    • As said above, how was today anything but a convincing win? We won 2-0, and 5-0 probably wouldn't have flattered us too much.
    • Just seen it.  That challenge was so daft that I can only assume he fancied a week off.  Playing for that lot you can't really blame him mind.
