Robert Redford reckons it'd be money well spent...

Plenty of time to enjoy Demi I suppose, Adama always seemed too quick whilst he was with the Boro.

I think Wing could be a good player at the base of a midfield as a playmaker. He has a good range of passing and could play a position similar to a Xabi Alonso. Albeit he’s not as good at tackling. But he would be a good option to play through. But it all depends on what formation and system we would use. We seem to bypass the midfield isn’t terms of build up play to get the seconds further up, so we don’t really need ball playing midfielders for this job.

No he wasn't. He was asked to do the job of an 8.

I can see what you mean, but he was definitely the most advanced of our midfield and not really relied upon defensively as much as I’d suggest an 8 would be used for. I suppose he wasn’t really a 10 in all honesty because he wasn’t really our playmaker either.

I think to be fair that is where we have a problem. We have 3 midfielders who lack the creativity of what a 10 would need but they are asked to do a job of contributing further up.

We’ve all said it for a while but we’ve only really had two out an out number 10s in the championship with Tomlin and Ramirez. I think our better spells coming with players like that in the team is evident enough that they are beneficial to teams.

I'd much prefer him as close to the box as possible. I don't think he's a greatpasser of the ball. But one thing everyone can agree on is that he can score goals given the opportunity - so if he's going to play he's got to be given those opportunities and the only way that'll happen is if he's somewhere between an 8 and a 10.

Wing certainly has the motor to play as an 8. If you're playing with a 3 in midfield he wouldn't need to play as a traditional box to box 8 as much as if we were playing a two man midfield. When was the last time we played a two man midfield. A proper two man midfield?

So a 9?

Wing can be really good.. we've seen it. He lost his way when Woodgate had him playing as a 4.

I agree, I think his confidence was shot with the way woodgate and pulis used him. Hopefully the Rotherham loan will have lifted him back up, he might not be every ones cup of tea, but a very useful squad player for sure.

A mate of mine is a palace fan, he says that bolasie is open to going back there, it's on some Amazon program about them he watched.

Of course bolasie would be open to going back to the PL, but he didn't exactly rip the championship to shreds during his admittedly limited game time with us and I dont see them taking him back

According to news warnock has made contact with 5 players and I'd confident, we know one is bolasie, possibly jed Wallace, mpanzu, who do we think the other two are?

Probably half the Sunderland squad, Bulge, Hume, ONein, Wyke and Jordan Jones

In seriousness Hume, Wyke, Williams, Bolasie and probably Chuks

i agree too , but my main annoying thing about all 3 is that theyre not giving us what they gave thier prevuios club. Howson had an eye for spectacular long range goals, Saville made late runs into the box and scored far more frequently and Morsy was a good solid defensive midfielder like clayton was in his prime here. all 3 have become centr-line sideway passers and with no subtlety in thier intentions. Wing i loved for his spectacular long range shooting and goals but midfielder wise there was no more to his armoury and he developed into what he was prior to us signing him..... a northern league class player.

Couldn't agree more, although you're maybe being a bit hard on Wing. Over the years, we've signed some great players who just haven't delivered when they came to Boro - too many to be a coincidence. We seem to be serially shøte when it comes to developing players. So where does that come from?

    • The administrators must be worried about HMRC. They supposedly owe them £26m.
    • I presume the continued legal action is to ensure that 9-12 point deduction that they are due for breaching P&S is actually carried out. It's all gone quiet since they went in to administration.
    • Well they're currently on -2 points. Another 9 point deduction would make that -11, which is currently 18 points from safety. That would be a serious amount of ground to make up and would require 3 teams above them to have pretty horrendous seasons, in order to overhaul them. I'd rather see Mel Morris get taken for every penny he's got, or otherwise punished to the full extent of the law. Instead he's wringing his hands and saying he's "sorry" while the club that was under his stewardship could end up going to the wall, if the administrators can't find a suitable buyer.
    • Does Gibson seriously holding a grudge for them outbidding us on Waghorn 😂
    • They haven't actually been punished for cheating yet, which is the whole point of principle for Gibson. They've had a self-inflicted 12 point deduction for administration. They're currently only 9 points from safety, that is far from insurmountable with most of the season left, and the pressure needs to be kept up to ensure they get the punishment they're due.
