Hoillet deal is unfortunately happening, but it's delayed because he's on international duty apparently but he will sign. Like I said previously, Bolasie deal is still way way off and unless his agent demands come down significantly then he won't be signing. Wyke has informed the club that he wants to join the club and the deal looked like it was happening but Boro have stalled. Gibson wants to club to be as close as self run as possible financially (stating the obvious I know), but gone are the times of giving players 25k a week so players like Deidhou won't be happening unless terms are reduced. Going to be a extremely budget summer transfer spree and we are hoping for the sale of Spence and possible saville to help us fund a bit of movement.  If Gibson doesn't want to put any more money into the club then surely its time for him to consider selling to a new owner. I don't blame him for not wanting to keep pumping money into the club, its his perogative and I'm not desperate to sell our soul to the first potential investor but you'd think its got to be something worth looking at.

But at least Hoilett would be average and not after 50k a week or needing a fee It was pretty telling that many fans wanted Marvin Johnson back in the side for the second half of the season

Bolasie is levels above him and Kebano is better too.

Baffling if you see them as a success or a barometer of a good attacking outlet for us

Oslo_Syd 320
A lot of negative vibes about Junior Hoilett here. Is his age the issue? Good skills, intelligent, good reading of the game, good positioning, good reflexes and PL experience. Rather him than an unknown quantity from League 2.
DurhamRed 2,043
So basically the news is Gibson isn't going to invest and wants to cut costs yet again. Had enough we have the highest season tickets in the championship for a promotion push not to be a average mediocre side! If Gibson no longer wants to pour money into the club find someone who will ipswitch got billionaire owners Sunderland managed we are being left behind is the problem. Plus on the sustainability thing for this we need to operate like Brentford did buy players with potential sell them for 10-30 million. Signing players like Hoilet and Smith is not going to generate sales of 10-30 million. To a degree have to do what we did in getting Brown, Bola and Dijksteel. But we simply aren't linked to these types of players apart from that mendez Gomes Edited June 19, 2021 by DurhamRed
