I'd be surprised. Hall and Fry will be first choice, with Peltier as back up. McNair, Dijksteel and Bola can all play there too. And that's assuming Wood is loaned out.

We possibly do need one more CB, but I'd argue it's not a priority

I’m not sure Payero is a super attacking mid, from the wyscout article he sounds more like a deeper lying midfielder, doesn’t really get in the box.

I think we would just like the club to announce it before the Olympics and then do all the photos and stuff when he arrives in Boro. Then we know its done we just gotta wait for him to be in the new kit ha

If it's going ahead it needs to be contracted before the Olympics then he can break a leg and be out for 18 months, never recovering his potential to make it a truly typical Boro signing.

Seriously though if he goes over there and tears the place a new one then we will struggle to complete any deal. We can sign the contracts electronically then send him a shirt via a courier so he can stand and grin holding the Boro shirt up with his name and number on it from Tokyo/Buenos Aires.

From what has been said, he wont get a work permit without an Olympic appearance, so cant really do a medical until after then as well. On that basis, logically we should be getting (or have already got??!!) Banfield and him to sign a conditional agreement based on him passing a medical and getting the work permit.  Of course logic and Boro don't always go together!

provided that article was translated accurately, a banfield spokesperson has already said it'll be done officially in the next few days. So I'm going to cling to that hope for now.
